Smile AUS near their area earth quakes

man AUS has some earth quakes in down their area, i hope it be OK down there guys

australia is reasonabely safe from major earthquakes as were are smack bang in the middle of the indo-australian plate, most earthquakes occur when two plate boudaries meet, whether they diverging or converging. Because we arent near a plate boundary we dont get these major earthquakes. Througn indoneasia and New Zealand from the plate boundary and are more affected. We do get minor (as in barly noticeable) tremors on occasion due to faults though.

Lets hope that if there are any earthquakes any where that the loss of life is minimum, we can always rebuild buidlings but friends and family are irreplaceable.

True. We live on a huge fault that has not been active for over 100 years, that is why they think we will get a size 8+ one.

This Tsunami quake is a big worry because most of the worlds very large faults are loooong over due a big rumble.
West Coast USA and Tokyo are both due humdingers and have been for a good few decades which is why depsite wanting to visit both these parts of the world I am opting for much safer places this year.
