Are you still in win2000 or windows xp? Is the driver fully compatable with your system? First I would check if there were any driver updates, and try to reinstall the driver.. If that didn't work i'd take the card and switch pci ports and reinstall the driver (worked for me on a lan card before).. If all that dosen't work get a new modem, they can't cost more then $15

could try using the standard drivers that come with XP, there is only one for 56k modems. but gotta be worth giving it a shot.

I think I can help you out.

First of all, when Windows XP detected my modem, I installed it, but then it played up on me.
So uninstall the modem, and go to Add New Hardware, and just select Standard 56000bps modem from the list, that will give it standard drivers.

When Windows detected mine, it was a 28.8k Dynalink 1433VHQE I think.
When I selected it from the list, Windows just recognized it as a normal 28000bps modem, and it worked fine.

They'll still make updates for Windows 2000 if they're still making updates for Windows XP.
Windows XP was kind of built with the same engine Windows 2000 has.

At least you solved your problem Chief. GJ.
