is there any that exist out there? i searched google and the only 1 i found took me to a game hosting website with no mention anywhere to download it

You trying to stop people from downloading stuff? Probably requires some kind of JScript or VBScript.

soz, shud hav worded it better lol, when i meant block i mean't addons/modules for the site

only thing i can think of is block the file type.

i searching see if there anything out there on it.

think you be able to look over the forum PHP and find were FLV is listed and remove that part some the scrip.

I'll keep looking, or write my own.


What you need though is a flash player that plays the flv files.. .so a possible search would be "phpnuke flash flv player" or "phpnuke flash player block"

You can take the code for that and make a custom phpnuke block and paste the html code into the block. If you get all the paths correct, etc it should work.

i think there is a PHP rule you can use to block shockwave from being play.

don't know 100% but think it can be adapted to block flash FLV file from being use as will.

think if you change the file type from shockwave "SWF" to Flash player "FLV" it may work. besides making up a whole new PHP scrip for it then adapt it into the other rules

lol we need to get this cleared up.

Chief is under the impression you want to block the files from being played.


I'm assuming you want a php-nuke block to play the files.


@chief, php-nuke blocks are the individual sections on the left or right columns of php-nuke. They are a stand-alone php files that you drop into the blocks folder of php-nuke and activate though admin, in which case they then appear where ever you specify on the php-nuke page. an other word would be plug-ins.

The php-nuke page is made up of blocks. Get rid of all the blocks and you would just have an empty page.

Now if he had said "how do you block phpnuke from playing .flv files" then I would have assumed he doesn't want them played. But I'm getting the impression he wants them played.


@ BB I'll throw up a php-nuke install and see if I can get one working. I'll let you know when.

I just took a look at this and it should be pretty simple.

What are you ultimately trying to accomplish?

You want to just play 1 .flv file? Several?

If several it looks like it can load the files from a directory, xml playlist or RSS feed.

was jus a little project to design a website that has games and some flash videos on it, basically so that during free classes at school we have a site to use, that the school cant block.. since there wud b no ads etc
