DF2 on Windows Vista

Is there anything that I should be aware of before loading DF2 on Windows Vista?

I've been away from the games for a while and I'm eager to play.
I have a new computer and am a bit leary of simply loading DF2 right off the bat. However, I do know that Vista has caused some discomfort for some users and i want to avoid hiccups if possible.

set it up like you would do with Windows Xp same thing with the Shortcut

right click-on the shortcut to the game.
you see a listing the item to click-on next is "properties.."
now up top you see "compatibility"
on that page you see a item look

Does anyone have vista that works with their DF2 i have changed everything i possibly can and went as far as Checking the Admin. section on the compatibility i can not get this to work say's the same thing DF2.exe Failed i have even sent it in for the GEEk Squad to try to get it to work and still no go my DFFav. work i can see who is Playing but still cant join,host i can just play the single Mission's are they ever going to update this to work or Screw just the one's that wants new PC's.

df2 works fine with my windows vista. I don't have to run it in Windows XP mode or anything. Just install and play.

well, it seemed to load properly, but there wasn't an option to add desktop icon, so the prompt that you noted above wasn'y activated.
the single missions run ok, but there is no login to the Novaworld online games - grrr.
also, the DF Favorites that i downloaded from the Novasite had no files in it ... what gives?

any ideas? please help.

you update DF2?

basic you update the game first then you update the servers listing

novaworld change the location of their servers

attachment fix this minner bug
this bug only happen this year when novalogic move their old servers to a new location

fix DF1/2/LW location of Novaworld new servers to log-in

DF Favorites don't think it can run in Windows Vista it was not made for that, but i think there is a fix coming soon or some one knows something about it

r_o, where did you download DF Favs? Try downloading it here if you already haven't:

Don't expect DF2 to run smoothly on Vista, if it runs at all. DF2 is a bit old school.

all he needs to patch df2 so it connect to the new location online so he can play.

as for DF Fav its need work on to run under Window Vista is all

hey chief,
thanks for the update, but ...
everytime i try to open the attached zip i get a message noting "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive ... try downloading the files again."
ok, I've downloaded the file several times fro 2 different comps and I get the same message.
any ideas?

1.) Instill the game
2.) Update the game normal
3.) Use “NLExePatcher.exe” to update the game more today standers.
