Without testing the file I see there is one thing missing in db_login, try putting a ; at the end of

$database = 'punksofw_mdb'

It should look like this

$database = 'punksofw_mdb';
or this
$database = punksofw_mdb;

gd, ty panther for trying but that wasnt it i still get thismessage and im beginning to hate parse errors

Windows apache php 4.3 -
Parse error: parse error in C:\apache\htdocs\mapdb\index.php on line 35

Linux apahce php 4.3 -
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/punksofw/public_html/mapdb/index.php on line 35

ive tried it on my comp, windows, and my linux server still that parse message (and i looked at line 35 for like an hour and i couldnt find anything)

If it says row 35 it might be a error on row 34 like an missin ";"

Try to look for " or ; that are put in wrong places or shouldnt be there
