New Virus Threat?

I got the following email from a few friends of mine. I wanted to know if anyone could confirm it? It sounds like a stupid chain-letter bullsh*t thing to me, but it could be true. Anyone else gotten this email?

Anyone-using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on.

This information arrived this morning, Direct from both Microsoft and Norton.

Please send it to everybody you know who has access to the Internet.

You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail with a Power Point
presentation 'Life is Beautiful'


If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately.

If you open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying:
'It is too late now, your life is no longer beautiful.'

Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR COMPUTER
And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and password.

This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afterno on.
AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti virus software's are not capable of destroyin it.

The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.

PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS,

And ask them to
PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!

Sounds like a variation of other email hoaxes, based on snopes.com - http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/life.asp

But as it says on that link, power point files can contain deadly viruses, so as with all file attachements caution is recommended

When I get emails like that I just delete them with out any other thought.

I hate the b*stards who make those hoax chain letter emails. I just wanna hang 'em from a tree and let 'em die TBH... Screw them... I especially hate it when they assume that the person who recieves it is stupid and will fall for it...

even e-mail from a family member who get them a lot.
you should hear what my brother's say's they get virus weekly me not have one in a year now

one his Computer got trash totally by a virus and the other he send his to his Computer tech like every 90days when it no longer works
