Vidio Card
I just fryed my FX 5500, and I mean fryed! No big loss since it was out dated 2 weeks after I bought it. So without being a millionair and not wanting to catch a rash of crap from the old lady what would be a good card to buy that will play the newer games and might play a game or two comming out next week?

Depends on your price range.. $150 can buy you a pretty nice card now days.... look for the ATi HD series, the 4850 seems like a good buy, plus it's DX10 compatible.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102747 I've never really used nVidia products so I can't really point one of those out for you, maybe someone else can though.

If you only have AGP I recommend The NVIDIA 7900GS or Radeon HD 3850 512MB

Maybe I should have said I have a PCI port and not a PCI Express.

REVIEW BY: Ken Reviewed Jul 10, 2008 This was an upgrade for my son who lives on WOW. With a 2gb RAM upgrade and this video card, he has doubled the fps. Installation was simple. I definitely recommend this for any PCI upgrade. 2.) REVIEW BY: Warangel Reviewed Jun 20, 2008 If you do not have this card you really need to look into getting one! I needed to set up another system with dual monitors. I bought this card and found out that it was very easy to set up, it almost sets itself up! Very quick! The card not only allowed me to set up my monitors but allowed me to adjust each monitor the way I wanted it to look. I did notice that my system was quicker not only on games but it seems to aquire my web pages quicker. This card is by far the best bang for the buck. Nice easy card to install and set up and runs great with NO noise! 3.) REVIEW BY: Reviewed May 04, 2008 WOW this video card is amazing . i can play COD4 and Crysis kinda. my processor sucks lol but this is the best video card i have seen for pci. i had a radeon 9250 and this was a no brainer to buy this . if you have the money. i would go buy this video card. (works AMAZING on my 32'' hdtv) it will not break the bank price is under 100.00 when add-in S/H and tax to it. best part it support DX-10 as will DX-9c Windows Vista and Xp.

This PCI (regular) Radeon X1300 outperforms that XF 5500 in every way.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814129072 your gonna wonder why you haven't upgraded any sooner. The reason why I choose the X1300 over everything else is because it has A 128-bit memory interface, which is something every other PCI card (other than the XF5500) lacks. |
