aparently switching some case fans around has caued windows to become corrupt!

couldn't repair and the setup wizard says it could find no trace of windows being installed!

2 weeks of hard work and careful installation, customisation, software tuning, email etc all gone

then to top it off, after installing i cannot activate XP because the key has been used too many times already!!! thankfully MS has their phone system and customer support in good shape so they activated me without further stress.

Steve have you try to go into safe mod the use system restore it dose work in safe mod, Safe mod reboot or startup system press F8 after a sec or so you see white text of HHD info and Video card you need to press that F8 key fast keep doing it till the option come on the screen.

there was no way it could boot, believe me
and setup couldnt even find any trace of it let alone attempt to fix it.

Same thing happened to me when I built this machine. I was like WTF??? I called MS and they were all cool about it. I think they made it possible to activate online again because I did it once or twice afterwards and it worked fine.
I think I had the same problem. Did you get an error on the startup saying that there was a severe system error and then it said it was a device driver or something?
