Sata cables
my motherboard game with sata cables, and my harddrive supports it, but i have the harddrive setup to work off "normal" cables, so how do i switch over to sata? i don't mean to be dumb and will i see a difference?

hehehe, I just finished adding a 250gb sata harddrive and had to go through that process.
What I had to do was go into my bios and tell it to boot off of the sata harddrive. In my bois I have a boot menu with a submenu harddrives. that menu controled which drive to use in the boot up process. If your trying to install windows on it (like I was) you need to during windows install when it asks for 3rd party drivers provide a floppy disk with your sata drivers on it for setup to recognize the drive. (this is for windows XP) this is for an Asus 7v880 series motherboard hth IcI |
