Install error

I'm trying to install to instal this on my sister's laptop while my computer is in the shop till wednesday/Thursday. It's a Dell Inspiron 8200 piece of $#*& that meets the minimal requirements ( P4 mobile 1.6 ghz, 1 gig of ram, 64 mb video card, and I have 1/2 an 80 gig hard drive left.) Anyway I keep getting this error: "An error occurred during the move data process : -2147418113" I also am an Admin on here, so i dont see a problem. Any help would be appreciated.

looks like a resonably common error to get when installing an app off cd or coping data from a cd.
the best thing i can find on google is this page: http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:H...&ct=clnk&cd=12

try the things in the 2nd reply.

doesn't look like a simple thing to solve tho : http://www.google.co.uk/search?lr=&i...m%202147418113 :/

i'd try these things first

Check to make sure the CD is clean. If not, clean it and try the installation again.

Go to | Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Performance | File System | CD-ROM | and set your Supplemental Cache size to "Small", and "Optimize Access Pattern" to "No Read-Ahead" and try the installation again.

---------

Close all other programs, including virus checkers, etc.

---------

Usually this error is caused by not having your file system set to 32-bit. This problem will occur on systems that are running drives in MS-DOS compatibility mode. To check this go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System then click on the Performance tab. If your file system is not 32-bit that is what is causing the error. In most cases, updating the CD-ROM driver will correct the problem. If you find that updating your CD-ROM driver does not remedy the situation, consult your computer manual or a certified technician.

----------

Run Scandisk and Defrag on your hard drive(s). If the problem persists, attempt to install the game on another machine to test the integrity of the CD. If the CD won't work on another system, it is defective and should be returned to the place of purchase.
