Lock ups at 100% screen

I'm starting to have my computer lock up right at the 100% screen.

It goes all the way through loading from 0% to 100%, but when it gets there, it freezes.

It has also freezed a couple times at the calculating ping times.

Updating drivers etc. has not resolved!

Which operating system do you have?

Have you updated Directx drivers? Have you tried playing with no sound and low details? How much RAM do you have?

When did you last run Defrag progam? Please run that.

well...not sure why it freezes at 100% but to avoid it freezing at the calculating ping times screen just hit cancel and it will take you right to the games. For the freezing at 100% thing try what dd and sb said and see how that works.If that doesn't help try uninstalling the demo and downloading it again?

My internet was down for a bit, now it's up and i will reply to teh questions:

My system CANNOT run defrag (I've tried everything and it just keep going.... safe mode, shut down manually, nothing works)

have re-installed at still probs.

It all started when I tried to get rid of sound lag when using motherboard based sound. I've updated the drivers on my ESC board, but still has lag.
No Lock -up when I use MB sound.
Put in Turtle Beach sound card and now it locks up. But sound is real time as I click the buttoms. Does tell me at start-up that my SOund blaster emulation is not loading. This may be what is hanging it, but I do get sound when I click through BHD menu screens.
So, I'm back to MB Sound, can still play (no-lock ups) but big sound delay. May buy new sound card and try.
