Way to change crosshair color?

hey JerseyDevil.... could u pm me how 2 edit the crosshairs? i would like 2 design a set of DF2 style 1s. some other games like ut2k3 already have in built options 4 custom and personalized crosshairs.... i dont c it as a cheat.... its a playing preference.

After that you can DL it and youll be able to figure out what to do very easily

I appreciate the offer but Im shooting for DL section of the major sites like this one and DF Barracks etc...
I dont want this to be some obscure DL that only afew people have access to.
Im too lazy to pimp it to them so theyll have to come to me in this thread or via PM
I mean its only 5kb I could easily throw it on my web space and supply the link but I want it to be located in the DL sections of the major sites this way theres no way people can cry that some are using some strange crosshairs.They will all be able to DL and see its nothing more than new colors and possibly use them too.

How about it StevieB? or does this really seem like something that some will cry cheater over?

The zip im wanting to offer has nothing more than a simple readme telling them nothing more than they need to know to have a colored crosshair and the default crosshair done in the 8 colors from DFLW.

The ones in the shots above from GR and OFP are only for the next one Im working and I dont care who hosts that one

Sb, do you know if bhd has the no skin option? I havent seen anything on that and it dosen't say skins yes or no on the server lists page.

Theres an "Allow Custom Skins" option in host options for BHD.It is unchecked by default.

Nova servers have this unchecked in there setting too that much Im sure of.
As I said I tested my green one in a nova server and was not denied entry.
Therefore repainted crosshairs are do not fall under the "Skins" catagory obviously

I am VERY against cheats

This is not a cheat though How can anyone see a different color crosshair as a cheat?
We have ALWAYS had this opition in DF up until now.Im just offering that option to everyone again.
Obviosly Nova was too lazy to add it this time.
Ive just done Novas job for them.
Ill think twice before trying to do anything nice for the DF community again after the responce i"m getting here.

a lot of gamers feel that altering the files of the original game in ANY way is not correct. i don't see any real advantage of a diff x-hair but that is not the point here. i see the viewpoint about altered game files for sure.


it's a touchy subject, and i would like to think about it more but i would love to see the x-hairs you have made - hey i like modding more than playing the damn games anyway.

i made some custom x-hairs for dflw and dftfd which were cool and were gonna be in a MOD, cool stuff.

Im gonna send you 2 one with the kind of readme I think you will most likely aprove of and another with a one that explains how to overwrite without giving ANY more information than they need to know.

My intentions are not to aid would-be cheats in there quest for the player skin files Trust Me.

Like I said Im not describing the method of procuring the crosshairs tga even .And I surely have no intention of doing any sort of camo skins for any DF to do so would guive card blanche to the little ****s.

have a look at it and let me know what you think.

If this you still think theres any way a slimeball the likes of Boo Boo or his merry butt****ing men could benifit from them then I will drop this proposal intirely

seems you're getting really into this...
i'm still a big df2 fan, but df2 is df2 and BHD is BHD
things (and crosshairs too ) change
IMO it's time to move on and get used to BHD

just my 2 cents

ps: i never really got to like dflw and i didn't even remember that the crosshairs were green
and i like the new BHD crosshairs

Why not ask NL how they feel about it. If they aprove it, it's not a cheat. Maybe they will add it into the new update, or will aprove it as a legal DL for BHD.

Anyway it sounds greate to have diff crosshairs again.

I did my best to keep the ReadMe short and too the point.
In other words I dont give any clues how to mess with any other files .Simply enough info to install these

This one has nothing altered except the colors btw

Blue
Red
Black
Yellow
Orange
Purple
White (the un-touched original for backup purposes)

Panther had told me in the pass to do the upload in the wallpaper sections do same as wallpaper in the zip-file a text saying who made it and what it is all about has to be under 1mb is the limited to upload it.

this came up for the screensaver i made to bad its 2.381mb can't do it.

In your opinion guys, what is an acceptable amount of time to wait for Novas reply before assuming they arent going to reply at all?
