Why I'm a script nerd and why I picked here

Besides the obvious fact I love the games, why am I here and why the heck am I a such a script nerd at this age?

Well, using any sort of code started because I had to use some type of basic script and a bunch of DOS commands in my course of work.

This was usually at control room workstations and PLC's (remote computer installations that monitor machinery etc) along with a bit of VB Script in document macros in later years.

The 70's were bliss (when I was just a lad) and then I suffered the financial disasters of the 80's (as an adult) but then 2000 and onward brought on a long needed career change, for many Australians not just myself.

This gave me more time behind the ever powerful home computer (PC).

For a long time it would've cost tens of thousands of dollars for computer power that would fit in a phone today and also a myriad of external hardware and wiring was required, which made it prohibitive to all but the very well heeled or the insanely keen.

I had responsibilities and income that couldn't share that load but...!

Suddenly you discover that now you can do much much more with the software tools and power of today's computers than you ever dreamed possible back then and at long last it's all affordable.

Y'all probably get the drift now.

Now I'm able to go from the workshop to the playroom at the click of a mouse.

So here I am.
