Choppers landing and taking off!

It might seem like a daft question this but here goes,

How do I get a helicopter to take off with a player on board, then land after so many circuits of the map and then take off again when the player is killed as happens on Nova's own maps? I can get the chopper to fly but I cannot get it to land and take off again, I know it's some thing to do with events etc but I cannot seem to figure it out or am I being obtuse?
