Making maps in BHD MP Demo

1. Make sure you have the latest BHD Med, available here. It has the latest DVD1.TRN file. If you've downloaded it from somewhere else overwrite it with this one.
2. Unzip the Med in your BHD Demo folder
3. Start the Med and add a building in the INSERT mode mode. Hit INSERT on the keyboard to leave the insert mode.
4. Select the building you want to edit.
5. Hit the 3D Wireframe button.
6. Holding Shift key do arrow up. Keep moving until the bottom of that building turns yellow. Zoom in using + on numbers pad or pageup. For minor tweaking do CTRL+SHIFT and arrow up or arrow down.
7. Save as in the BHDMed
8. Export Binary Mission, File should be called TDMM_01a.BMS, or TDMM_01b.BMS, or TDMM_01c.BMS for it to appear on the Demo.
9. Exit out of Med.
10. Drag the BMS file you just create above over the PACKIT.EXE. A dialog box will appear. Don't do anything. Then a prompt will appear, stating a file has been packed. Hit OK button and then close button to leave the packing utility. Make sure that the BHD Demo option's selected.
11. Start hosting with bhddemol for LAN test or bhddemo for regular BHD hosting.

hi guys
have you tried the "new demo terrain" for BHD?

1. you don't have to pack anything to run a map. all you have to do is name the maps tdmm_01a or tdmm_01b or tdmm_01c and run "run.bat". choose the corresponding maps in multiplayer-Lan and WAALA!
2. its got a A.I system and allows you to play with the computer in Lan. . the textures are pretty bad on the somalian, but i use the delta01.3di and 01_ranger.adm and deltaMP.3di files in the demores.pff so i actually get delta operative textures. to use them, just rename them as esomal01.3di, esomal01.adm, esomal02.3di and esomal02.adm. Note, the adm files are bot from 01_ranger.adm. and don't need to pack the files either, just overwrite the files in the delta force BHD folder with the new demo terrain extracted in it. also, do not extract the Map editor into the same folder or else you'll get weird graphics in the game.

just one question...the buildings in the custom maps are submerged into the ground. i have downloaded the dvd1.trn file and replaced it but it doesn't seem to work. i tried raising the Z values and it looks okay in the 3D side view in the editor but in the game, they are still submerged. what am i doing wrong?

Hi there thunda! Welcome to DFHQ.NET!

Please follow these steps:

1. Select the building you want to edit.
2. Hit the 3DWireFrame button
3. Holding Shift key do arrow up. Keep moving until the bottom of that building turns yellow. Zoom in using + on numbers pad. For minor tweaking do CTRL+SHIFT and arrow up or Down.

Hope this helps

and could it be the Mission editor that's giving me the trouble?

Devil you didnt read my whole post and just decided to close the thread. My problem is still there. I have done all that. I have made maps for DF2 DFLW and DF TFD without this problem. Still havnt sorted it. Ive even used the 3d frame to raise the building higher than the second bldg to stack just to see. It doesnt raise. LOL I dunno. Refer to my closed thread for full post.

I'd recommend one last thing. Save your BMS and MIS somewhere and uninstall the game and delete the folder. Then reinstall it fresh, and get the Med from the link I posted above. I've tested this thing on Win98, ME, W2K, Win NT, and XP. Works fine.

i have clean installed BHD but the MED still doesn't work

i realise that there are the red lines and the green lines in the 3D view. i also realised that the level in which the red line protrudes from the building is the level in which the buildings are submerged in the game. Perhaps if i could lower the red line should the building be no longer submerged? if so, how do i lower the red line?

Devil yes fresh install. I uninstalled the game. Then went to novalogic folder and deleted the BHD demo folder. Then reinstalled the game. Redownloaded the editor. Still have same prob as thunda. I agree mine is the same. I raise the bldg above the green or yellow line (color blind with those colors) but the red line raises with the bldg. Still keeps the bldg submerged. Help us please LMAO
