How do I make soldiers dead in my maps?

Ive been trying to figure out how to make people dead in my maps. I bet its easy but I just cant figure out how to make the characters dead . Some one please help

AI or the actual player?
single or multi?
start of the game or an event to trigger it?

I know that you can kill them. what i want to know is how to make the characters dead before the map even starts. when making a map how to find a character that is already dead and put him on my map.

Im making the maps for multi. I want the tirgger to happen before the game even starts.

Its not the actually player that you play with but the computer players.

Put em all in a group and set an event to kill that group at start.

Can't you just put in decoration: wounded soldier? that might be easier

i was going 2 suggest wounded soldier, but oogledump beat me to it
