Important 360 overheat

well i'm thinking about getting one but the whole overheating thing really worrys me
so i wanna get some oppinons and info about this.

i mean i know why it was caused by using lead free solder so it conducts heat more easly.

i only have those past gen system like an PS2 and XboX and i soooo need a now gen system

I've had my 360 since launch and haven't had any problems. I have friends though who've had it fixed 3 or 4 times.

If you have very little air movement around the console, find the exhaust vents(hottest slots if no fan) and add a small clip on desk fan about a foot away pointing away from it. this will pull the hot air away from the system in a room with litte air circulation. this should also pull cooler air towards the console thus helping to cool it.

Another thing this does is the larger particals of dust/hair will go the way of the least resistance, this means the dust will go around the console instead of into it for the most part.

Just a tip for passive cooled stuff that runs hot and collects dust....

If you stand the system up vibrations from speakers will cause rings on your games, and eventually burn out the laser in the system. This is the case on all systems.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/back...ygameslist.htm

That is the list of all the games that work on the 360. You must download the update first, which can be done on live or burned to a cd from your pc.

The PS3 does the same thing, however it causes more discs to get stuck inside. The only Next Gen system that was designed to be stood up is the Wii.

It has a locking track inside it to accomodate for gamecube and wii games.

lol talking about the PS3

make sure that it is not enclosed because i got a new stand and everything to put my PS3 and stereo in, forgot to put a hole in the back of it stand so the hot air could get pushed out and it overheated on me to the point that i couldn't touch it...

Maybe I'm the only person in the world doing something right, but I've had my 360 standing vertically for years. Zero disc scratches and zero disc read errors. No RROD. NOTHING. It's all a bunch of bull**** myths. If people knew how to not be careless they wouldn't have these problems.
