When you are making your background using the render you need to try and break it up more. For example, in that second one, the D can be made out in the top left corner.

Also, while you seem to have figured out text filters and smoothing, that particular text effect doesn't blend in with the second sigs.

bustin is right, i would really work on your text effects, if all else fails go with the scape goat of all text problems:

Font: Arial
Color: Doesnt matter, try to match to the general theme of the sig
Size: 12-18
Effects: Drop Shadow, but make it so that the shadow is more of a glow.

#2 is good. work on making the whole sig sparkly-ish, and not just the render
