WARNING: Storm Gang is currently circulating a Virus that Prey’s on US Patriotism on 4th of July

Gary Werner and his team at University of Alabama at Birmingham have identified and publicized a new variant of the Storm Trojan attack. This time the perpetrators are attempting to capitalize on our national patriotism by enticing you to check out an online fireworks display with a bogus email and web link – Don’t Take the Bait!

Emails that contain the bogus link include the topics listed below. When you check out the site to see the firworks video your computer will unknowingly download a new Trojan program. Result - your computer gets slower and becomes part of the nefarious Storm botnet.

This attack is not surprising given the Storm gang's uncanny sense of timing attacks with significant events when people are apt to let down their guard.

Do not open the following or similar email and do not visit the referenced web sites.
