df2 still alive and kicking?

I think i bought that game 10 years ago when i was 13. Could say it was my gateway drug into the world of gaming. Anyways i was just thinking i might ebay a copy for a few bucks but i guess ill pass if there is no one playing it. With the huge letdown that MW2 was for pc gamers im sorta scrounging for something to play.

I wont even buy it. I'd rather not get into the whole dedicated servers, lack of modding, and general backwards regression that is MW2. Anyways, is df2 alive at all? It might be fun to play for a month or two

There are about 100 players on at peak times every night.

Lulz, Unless you've been hiding in a cave, you'll see that its been a resounding success ;P So i'de advise trying it before you judge it. But thats my two 'pennies'

Im sure the game itself is great and from a financial standpoint it was a resounding success. Being a pc gamer has me feeling like they dropped a Cleveland steamer on my chest.

No dedicated servers means competition is going to be imbalanced regardless with the gigantic host advantage. The inability to mod is going to further detract from competitive gameplay. And taking some of the best innovations for MW2 from COD4 modders then denying them mod tools sort of pisses me off.

I agree with bronie, as PC players we should make a stand and not "try" it based on the FU they pretty much said to the PC community.

As for the subject at hand there were around 100 players last night when i popped in to see. nothing going on that i wanted to play so i moved on.

I had the urge to re-install DF2 this weekend..
so this is relevant to my interests <.<

i do hope there are still at least a few games out and about, i miss multiplayer gaming very dearly D:
