Running

Running

Okay, I need some tips on how to consume my energy when running for Cross Country next week. All the other years I've been behind 'cause of wearing shoes, but gonna take them off on this event 'cause it'll be the last time (next year is secondary school).

I've learned to keep my pace and do not sprint like the others (unless you wanna be cool and sprint and hold your position for another 2.6km (about a mile).

I need some tips to try and get myself more fit and know how to comsume my energy, etc.

Any wise words from people like Mauser, Scott, Steve, BB, etc. are welcome.

man i used to hate cross country, i get really sore ankles when running. however i was a really good swimmer so i had lots of stamina, so i was pretty good compaired to most others.

you're thiking smart anyway but not sprinting off at the start, all the tough kids used to try and do that but end up walking towards the end.

sometimes thinking about your breathing helps you relax and pace it rather than going nuts and running as fast as you can. a simple method would be breathe in for 3 strides and then out for 3 strides, but this can depend on how big your strides are hehe anyway it can help you get into a good rhythm, make you concentrate on what you're doing to a greater extent, and you should not get out of breath as quickly.

it would be hard to get more fit by next week, but being a young lad like yourself you will have muchos energy anyway

is ther any indication of 1/2 way though the race? try to pick up your pace after that point. good luck

Day before the run, dont do anything, just relax that day.. That way your muscles can have some rest.
And before you take off make sure you did a warming up, it helps a lot..

( i do this atleast once a week... The boss wants me to ... Sometimes military sucks :P )
