Hosting Problem

I have been using the anaconda server to host games in the past. Now when I recently started using it again, everyone who joins gets immediately punted. What can/should I do?

I have a p4 2.9ghz, 533 fsb, 512ram, my dsl connection speed is 2351.6 kbps. The only firewall I have at this time is the windows firewall, and os is winxp.

One more thing that might help us help you is if you have a router, what type? and have you configured it for hosting?

So they join automatically and then are punted? You see them joining?

Try making sure in your host options that require novalogic login is unchecked

Yes I see them joining, I can speak with them for less then a minute and then they are punted. Occasionally they try to come back only to be punted again. I also have uninstalled the server program and reinstalled it with a new download, seeing how my original was downloaded more than a year ago. I do not select to have players log in. I would like to say briefly that I appreciate the anwers and help everyone is putting into this. Thanks.

what has changed since it worked? upgrades? o/s change?

That would be a tough one. I had a Dell p4 2gig, then bought this which is a compaq about 2 months ago. However the problem didn't start until about a week ago. I have the Med Mod but I'm convinced that has nothing to do with it, since I've removed it and tried to host without it and it continues. I have not uninstalled the game itself maybe I should try that.

If you do uninstall the game, what I would do is uninstall it then go to mycomputer C:\ProgramFiles\Novalogic and erase the BHD folder and then empty recycle bin, then restart the computer and install the game again.

OK.So it appears to be working at this point. I uninstalled both BHD and BHDTS as well as the server. I reinstalled everything and tried it out. That apparently fixed the problem. A big thanks to all of you for your input in helping me figure this dilema out. I'll let you know if it starts acting up again.

I am having the hardest time getting our server to work. I can see it on the novaworld list of servers (BHD Team Sabre) but does not allow joining the game.

So I first tried at my house with router but my friend and I can not play and host from that 1 IP so I had my friend put it on his server at his house. Dedicated IP, using anaconda that we dl'd from here.

I don't know the game ports he needs to forward or if there is something else I need to do. Ther server is LRS snipers in novaworld list. Shows it is up but can't join.

I am not sure what router he is using. I think netgear but I know he has about 10 servers on a T1. This box he hosted for us has windows 2003 server edition dual processor with a few gigs RAM.

I know its his router because i had same issue till i configured my router whcih i have Linksys!

But the ports should look like this when forwared im not giving you my whole Linksys screen just the forwarded categorys!

He just needs to configure these ports like i did mine!



NOTE- is ip may look different thats ok!

If he cant figure it out im sure Chief,Stevie,BB Mike,or Panther knows something about the other routers!

But as you can see the last digit of my ip box are empty i erased them for example you must plug in the empty boxes for your ip address part that doesent show up for example it kept all bt the last number i had to put into there myself!

Say your ip was 168.234.1.2 then you would put 2 in the last box!

If your unsure of your ip then on most computers not sure if on all the command to renew and release your ip which also shows your ip is winipcfg!

I will try this out and I appreciate the reply. Very helpful information. I posted this up in another forum I go to because no one had the answers for me there. This worked well. I am having some issues with another server off site but think I can get it taken care of soon.
