eek good lord

first day of me elective class at collage today.

if sucessfull it will give me a universal cirtification on the use ,recovery, transport etc, of refrigerants.

in 2 hours of the firstday i memorized more than whatmost wrote down in their books.

memorized so far........
the stratosphere is 10-30miles above sea level.
chlorine is what causes the most harm in the atmosphere, just 1 chlorine molocule can destroy up to 100,000 ozone molocule and the chlorine molocule is a stable molocule and can linger for up to 100 yrs.

it is illeagle to vent any CFC HCFC or HFC into the air, and it is aganst the law to service any refrigeration or AC device unless ya are a cirtified tech.

there are 2 methods to recovery of refridgerants...... 1 was is system reliant or passive method and the other is active or self contained.

passive or system reliant relys on the high pressure side of the system to push the refrigerant into the reclamation vessal.

active or self contained uses a external compressor to withdraw and push the refrigerant into the recovery tank.

examples of CFC is.......R-11 R-12 R-500 and R-502 type refrigerants.

examples of HCFC is R-22 and R-123A

examples of HFC is R-134A and R-410A

cfc is ChlorFloroCarbon

hcfc is hydroChloroFloroCarbon

hfc is hydroFloroCarbon

HFC uses polyester derived oil and these oils wont mix with the oils of other refrigerants witch most include a type of mineral oil.

dehydration of a refrigeration system is done by introducing a negative pressure in the lines b4 filling it with a refrigerant.

the 3 Rs is Recover , Recycle , Reclaim.

recovery is the collection of the refrigerant into the collection tank.

recycle is done by running the refrigeran thru a series of filter\dryers to remove morsture and\or oils.

reclaiming is done by purifying and removing the impurities and contaminants making it pure enough to comply witrh section ARI 700 to resell or reuse.

ARI stands for Airconditioning Refrigeration Institute.

all systems made now must be ARI certified.

ya dont fill a relamation cylnder to its full capacity due to expancion for it will cause the cyl to bust.

do not mix refrigerants.

the proper disposal of cylenders is to reclaim all remaining refrigerant to 0psig and rendering the cyl usless.

that is just some of it, om tired of listing, lol.

but next class i gota memorize a lot more.

Love learning about computer-related stuff, because that's where I shine at, heh. Sorry to be off-topic.

Speaking about chlorine, I hate chlorine water! It makes ya stink when you're all dry... :S

chlorine is what causes the most harm in the atmosphere,

and think we all use in every day life, wishing dishes, cloth's, swimming pools, cleaning and purifier air in buildings that get hit with Bio-weapons , powders weapons, disinfects as will sample US-Postal office got hit with powder mails it was chlorine that clear and purife the build.

sorry to say chlorine is here for a very long time.

but we have so many other resource that is killing the ozone as will. to many to count and unknown as will other source that could be killing it off as will.

they tought us if we wanted to be a rat, we could ern up to 10,000$US for ratting on some1 that is piurposly venting CFC and other refrigerants.

the penalty for venting or other actions that cause CFC HCFC HFC to be vented can caust 27,500 per day per offence.

lol , i have probably done everything that they said not to , like in the 80s i used to help me granddad strip AC units and refrigerators to get the copper out ofem, wed just pop a hole in a line and let it vent, or fer a big unit with a lot of nasty gas, wed put it on the hill out back and pop a hole in it with the SKS.
