Help needed! Humvees in BHD

Okay!

I have a group of 2 humvees that i wanna have going along a set of waypoints, when they come back to the start i want them to stop there and stay for 20 seconds (like the delay before they take off at the start of the map).

I can make them start moving and they follow the wps, but when i want them to halt for a bit, that when i run into trouble. They either stop for good or dont stop at all.

Here is my eventlist.

Event 14 (Delay 20 seconds)

If (nothing at all)

Then
(0)Redirect Group 6 to waypoint 14 - 0
(1)Change Group 6 AI: patrol speed = 18km/h
(2)Change Group 6 AI: combat speed = 18km/h

Event 15 (Delay 5 seconds)
If
(0)Group 6 reachees waypoint 14,14

THEN
(0)Change Group 6 AI: Patrol speed = 0km/h
(1)Change Group 6 AI: Combat speed = 0km/h

Event 16 (Delay 20 seconds)
IF
(0)Event 15 has been triggered

THEN
(0)Redirect Group 6 to Waypoint 14,0


As you can see, i only have 1 set of waypoints. First one 14,0 and last one 14,14


I understand that i have done something completely fubar, thats why im asking for help here.

I know wat you mean m8, Personally with humvees i shouldnt worry about it beacuse they dont have to be still to get on them, just make sure they keep going round the route you have set. However, i have the same problem as you when it comes to choppers, I can get t to take off and go round m route but i have NO IDEA how to make it land, its driving me up the wall.....Any Advice???

I fixxed the problem. Got help on dfbarracks. Now i just gotta do some minor tweaking.


I know that there is several good tutorials for making helos land, i know they are good cause they helped me

Hey Santa - glad you got the problem fixed.

So ........... what was the solution ???

For helicopter landing - it was accomplished by the following in the action section:

change group XX AI state to land

At least that is what has worked for me.

FYI - I also can't get them to take off again - but I've posted this before reading A L L the forums -

if you use the land event they will turn off. change speed to '0' instead, and they will stay active

Thanks StevieB

As i said - this post was before I read all the forums - plus - just new to map making.

In any event - I had tried before to just set speed to Zero. When the chopper reached it's final wp and I wanted it to land - it just sat there hovering like the patient little AI it was. So i was probably doing something else wrong somewhere.

I also just tried the change AI state to follow wp then directed it to the desired WP.

It works for me. Probably not pretty on a programming level but gets the desired result.

So hopefully I haven't given anyone bad advice. This worked for me and got the results I wanted. As I develop in map making skills I'm sure I'll get better thanks to forums like these.

Or, if you place a single waypoint, on top of the last waypoint in your helo's list, then redirect the helo to that point, it will not spin down..you sent it to a new waypoint list that only has 1 waypoint, so it will stay put..
