Paypal. Your friend or your enemy ?

I noticed you have a paypal donation button on your site.
If anything on your site breaks there TOS or they just don't like it, they can freeze your account and hold your money for 6 months.

"On August 23, PayPal gave users via e-mail 30 days' notice that it could levy a fine of $500 on those who violate its acceptable use policies. Its compliance team will strictly enforce the new acceptable use policy to implement the monetary fines on both buyers and sellers who use the transaction service to trade in items the San Jose, Calif.-based company has outlawed."

Both the seller and buyer can be fined (total=$1000), Fortunately you are not selling or buying anything on this site so they could not fine you.

Anyone using paypal should be very careful.

Even some items sold on Ebay (owned by paypal) break there TOS.

from what I just read in paypal's tos, I don't see what the big deal is.

They flat out forbid paypal's services to be used for gambling, selling of drugs or adult material. so as long as you aren't doing those 3 things, your fine provided you aren't breaking other rules (no selling acedemic priced software unless your authorized to do so by the software company for example)

You can use it for just about any thing else, as long as your doing things legally.

I have a paypal account, had to get it in order to buy some software, they wouldn't accept any other form of payment. Now i can put up my own donation button... any one care to donate to my computer fund? j/k
