Do standalone gadgets work in Windows 8

i broken my to games, office, quick launch, system tools
i place shortcuts into them

i wouldn't mind to much for one tell me how badly my hard drive need to be defrag as an gadgets in windows 7

To get around issues like W7/W8 Administrator rights and UAC I'm hoping to use batch file (.bat) execution instead of "user-path" based executions which can be blocked.

So far in W7 the batch file scripts are working.

I used it for 5 years before I came here...did it for myself...oblivious of the greater talents and friendships involved.

I cannot give you guys (and all the other helpers and contributors) credit enough for all that's been done to keep the game alive.

I can say never give up. We the GP love you, the game, the spirit and will follow it all to the end.
