Finally!

EDITING TOOLS FOR DELTA FORCE – BLACK HAWK DOWN RELEASED
Gamers can create their own mods using the Black Hawk™ engine! Easy to use toolkit includes tutorials and samples.
Calabasas, CA — 2/3/2004 – Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic, Inc. announced today that the editing tools for Delta Force® - Black Hawk Down® have been released and are available for download at: http://www.novalogic.com/downloads.asp?GameKey=DFBHD.

The download includes the following tools:

Text Tool - Allows the user to change the text in the game. This includes objectives and any other text that displays in game.
Object Editor - Allows the user to take 3DMax files and convert them into assets that can be used by the Black Hawk engine.
Terrain Generator - Allows the user to make new terrains for the Black Hawk engine.
.def files - Allows the user to place their own objects in the game and set their properties.
Pack.exe - Allows users to pack their assets into a mod .pff. This will allow them to run a map featuring their own assets.
Sample files and Tutorials are also included in the download to help the user.

Well I hope you have 3d max , plus you will have to teach yourself how to use it and believe me its not exactly easy hehe. But ill see how my stuff goes then ill see about maybe helping. Dunno if i can though lol

sorry bud it come with Tutorial in it total 6ea
1.) Mod Tools List & Overview
2.) Object Creation Tutorial
3.) OED Manual
4.) Terrain Generator Overview
5.) Text Tool Overview

tools to use:
1.) df4oed.exe Vr 1.05.02e ref; editing items like buildens and other thing.
2.) Pack.exe packing pff files i believe
3.) TextTool.exe
4.) TrnGen.exe making up terrains for the game.

other tools will be needed you have to get to use is Photoshop 7 or newier, 3D Max or something close to it. and have the ram to use if you have small amount don't try it you need a lot of free mem/space.

I have 3dsmax + Photoshop7
I looked at the sample files and then I made that Hut model in to a mess
But i cant find the readme file or help button. I tought they have been working on that so the tools were dalayed.

Keep in mind Nova was thinking using some of these maps in there Stats server those have to be the stander items in the maps for them to use, so if you make a spec mod type map make a note of it inside the zip file you upload ok.

It has tutotirals but it wont teach you 3d max and all. Ive got a basic understanding of it but if you dont youll have to teach yourself.

maybe if ppl work out the toosl there will be 2 or 3 MOD ppl will want to play max IMHOP

Yeah I agree this isnt as easy as alot of people think. first theres already problems with people using max6 , apparently versions 3-5 are the ones to use. I dont know if this is true , but it wouldnt surprise me. Second now people can see what it actually takes to model video games. Its not easy , even though alot of the stuff in BHD and TS could be alot better. Case in point look at the weapons they spent alot more time and detail on the game weapons then they did on any other part of the game.

will if a group of players work on a mod together they come out with a whole new look to it. its been done check out other players who play BF 1942 Mods they play Star wars in it on top of the its going out in a new way to boot like landing on new planets they redoing it up. there so many ways you can go with DFBHD Eng its not funny you all have a tool to take it to a whole new level so you have to relrean it all. its not bad hell its super great almost like making up a whole new game.

about cause what you dont realize is FOR THE
MOD TOOLS 2 B ANY GUD YOU MUST HAVE
3DS MAX and its a whopppppiiiiinnnnnn.....!!!
$3500.00 and i dont know whats missin cause i have the demo version and created a .max file and the object editor
cud not see it or import it... What NOVA NEEDS 2 Do is
port it to gmax instead od 3ds max cause gmax is free
they really need to make a real object editor
and market it for say $30.00 that would give them funding to do it and the df community a real tool to work with.
what say you all...so say we all?
