Whats the best way to do online applications (forms)?

I use formmail tectite, its free :-)

You have to use the image captcha to get the ability to send the person submitting the form an email.

Scott's phMailer is good... I assume that is what you are talking about?

I have to make online applications for one of my clients.

They typically need alot of questions answered, and then dumped into a database, and the submitter gets a confirmation email.

We also have essay contests, that require the essay field to have a limited number of words.

So this script would need alot of work.
