eek My New Gaming Rig

Ok, so it is finally done, I custom built my own gaming rig last night. Here are the specs:

Cpu: Intel P4 550 CPU w/ HT Technology 3.4GHz 800FSB 1MB Cache
Mobo: Asus P5AD2 Premium I925X Chipset Sckt775 DDR2/533
Ram: 1GB (2x512MB) PC4300 533 Mhz DDR2 MEMORY
Hard drive: Western Digital 160GB 7200RPM ATA 100 8MB Special Editon
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 ULTRA 256MB 16X PCI EXPRESS by EVGA
Case: NZXT Nemesis Elite Aluminium Mid-Tower Case w/Window, Temp. Display & Fan Control
Power Supply: Super Alien 500 Watt See Through Power Supply w/ Fan Speed Control
Drive 1: SONY 52X CD-ROM
Drive 2: SONY DWD-22A DUAL FORMAT 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER
Floppy: 1.44 MB FLOPPY DRIVE
OS: Windows XP Home w/ SP2

Here are the pics, first of the gaming room in my basement I spent the past few weeks working on.

Next is the Rig itself:

The little blue screen on top of the case runs the fans and monitors the temperature of my CPU, hard drive and overall case temperature. It also has the time, date, alarm clock, 2 USB ports, mic & headphone jacks and a IEEE 1394 port.

Side View (Ohhhh Pretty Lights):

The case has (3) 120 mm fans. Last night my CPU temp never got over 65 Degrees F!

Sorry if the pictures are so blurry, I will try to retake some tonight. Other than the problems I am having with Punkbuster kicking me out of our server, this thing ROCKS!!!!!

Here is the differences I see with the new 6800 Ultra Video Card.
#1 I never new the rebel player had a tatoo on his left forearm
#2 The grass actually sways during the game
#3 When I get shot at and hit, my screen gets kinda blurry like your guy is almost losing his life. Not sure if I like this or not.
#4 Overall, it looks as if you are looking out a window. The grass is green, the sky is blue, it is amazing. Hopefully once I get Punkbuster straightened out, I can report more.

Steve, if you look to the left in the first picture, you can see my laptop, so technically I have 2 screens I could even set up my other laptop and have a total of 3 screens.

A guy in my squad is sending me Doom 3 so I can run this puppy to its fullest extent!

I hear alien ware makes some awesome liquid systems and they are way quiet too. That is something I want, liquid. I wonder if they make any small ones that would fit inside my tower.

I hear ya lol.. I spent about $2,000 last chirstmas and now I think I could build mine for $99 or less, If I could even find the 1 year old parts anymore. Prolly only at an antique shop now

But I think I have a plan this summer.. I want to upgrade again . So far my research is calling for

2x40 WesternDigital SATA 40gb
Abit AV8 MotherBoard
1gb Crucial Ballistix Ram DDR400 (PC2300)
AMD 64 3500+ ofcourse this would run at 3800+ .
Radeon X800 XT Or the X800 Pro.. Not much performance diff for the price diff .
And a 8x DVD burner.. I think I saw a plex for $50 after rebate.. **** last time I checked they were going for $300 for a 2x and the CD's where $30 for 15. Now you can get a 100 pack for $30 bucks....

That's about all I need to make my computer fast.. even tho I don't have a problem with mine now..

I kept a tiger direct catalog from like 2000 and you guys should see what was 'hot' then! AMD Duron 500MHz $500 Great Buy! 2x CD Burner, $200 bucks! Best seller!

Computers are useless..

The thing that sucks is when you have the money but you have to use it for something else.
