BF1942 CD 2 (error)

Ok i bought bf1942 about 6 months ago, i had to reinstall it l;ast night and got this message at 99% while installing Wake Island.. "An error has occured the media copuld not be found" SystemKaos had this problem and he said it was due to a stratch on the disk, i managed to get the files and uninstall removed by using norton unerase wizard and system restore. Only prob is it means if my PC crashes again i cant install it.

Any ideas how? is it possible just to buy disk 2 again?

may i suggest...installing the game...then locateing the NO CD CRACK on the net.....install the crack...then .ZIP the game folder , then if your PC crashes just unzip the cracked game...works perfect everytime....me and rider have swapped games like this for years in fact thats how i got team sabre / black hawk down /max payne 2 and a host of others....

yea my problem was just a small peice of dust or the few scratches from a year of playing, just try and clean the cd well

i did clean the cd well, for like 15mins while i was praying for it to work lol. i turned disk over and a scratch this big |-------------| was on the side of the disk and i was like, i dont think cleaning will help. so i scrambled my brain for ideas and did a restore beofre uninstall and then used un erase tool and worked.

BOne ill do what u said now, hopefully it`ll work.

will i could have burn Disk 2 off for you if you Pay the S/H USA-Fl to were every you are. you still would need the real Cd 2 to show.

only the Cd would cost .80c and thats being nice.

i have them both already backup copy made. mostly i lrean use the copys if they go bad make up new 1s

yea you got to watchout scratch both sides of it.

mostly if i trash a Cd i scratch the paint or face of it so one can see all the way thru-it.

Also depends what u clean it with i use achohol by the way you could always try a electric cd scratch remover Booomstick*CP* has one that costed him 40 dollars works well too.

What Visor*CP*/visor_dflw is good to.

i check out walmart they have a Cd repair kit from USD-15.00-24.00 i think there the hand crank one and the motor power one. they basic sand it down the one side of the Cd till it like new again.

i was think about getting it.

it was in the [Computer center] near were they have the Ink for Printer at.
