lol, i got a gun now that wasnt listed in the book, a M107 .50cal sniper rifle.

i just got arma ya bits and hos!!!
but god dang, im having so many problems getting a fast framerate and everything. my gfx card is optimized for anti-aliasing (it runs faster with it turned on) but what hurts the framerate is that so many objects to work its magic on can slow it down. i lowered the texture levels and everything, trying to balance the looks with other things, even lowered the resolution to 640x4whatever. it makes me made because the demo runs way faster and idk what settings i had that set on (the demo was set on its default.) |

what kindof card ya got? and how much memory ya got? etc...
what pisses me a t the moment is that ither the pbo thing isnt decrypting corectly or encrypting corectly, but i can just decrypt it and re encrypt it without changing anything and i get an error message "Cannot load texture CA\Weapons\data\W_Weapons_t.PAA" in the game and it kicks back to windows. |

Use a different .pbo extractor. Just Google some if you can. The .pbo tool must have damaged the .paa file somehow (.paa files are texture files).

ya i think it is doing something because the origional weapons.PBO is 251,788,192 bytes and after the unpacking and re packing it turnes out to be 251,788,174 bytes that 18 bytes diffrence, it is ither losing something in transistion or compressing something it shouldnt.
i have tried 2 packers but can only find 1 unpacker. |

Hmm... register at OFPEC and ask on the forum if you can.
BTW, regarding the weapon float in ArmA (or whatever the heck it is), is that really annoying to you in the game...? Chris

not really, just the dang twitching he does when using the scope, and the dam cant move when reloading and cant hardly move when on the rocket launcher.

2ghz processor
2gb of ram 256mb geforce 7800 but besides the point i got the framerate up way faster heres how i did it my gfx card runs pretty good with anti-aliasing but with so many objects onscreen it makes it hard for that. so i turned it off anti-aliasing all the way, and it did help the framerate so that i could look out farther distances now without a dramatic drop in framerate, with the exception of some transitions between a bush far away and close up, which was a serious problem when flying at low altitudes. about that problem, i noticed (pretend theres a building in front of me, and a bush behind me) that when i was lookin at the building, my framerate was doing fine, i turn around to that bush, the fps would drop to crap speed. i was thinking, wtf why this little bush!!! well whatever the reason bushes were just so complex and needed a lot of detail, i lowered the textures to low, instead of normal. it worked, my framerate is always fine, but now every texture just isnt what it used to be |

ok system ya should handle it but it is pushing it fer ARMA calls for 2ghz min and atleast 3ghz to run properly, im runnin 2.50ghz AMD 64 X2 and it work fine on it and 2gb of memory, the only thing i got that is really special is my vid card, ATI Radeon x1600 series with 512mb onboard memory, clocks are the core is at 650mhz and the memory is at 700mhz and it still has some probs with setting above normal on 1280x960-32bit.

you know what i like, is sometimes when theres tanks in a mission, some of them end up upside down on the road, and sometimes when u look up 1 of them and thew crew are in the sky falling down to their death. talk about failed chute deployment :l

lmao, i seen that the other day, ever seen a flying BMP-2? i heard something that sounded like some1 beating on a steel drum with a hammer an i turned around and 1 got in a glitch and flew 90mph into a building and blew up, lol.

Same goes for OFP as well (with the glitches and all), no doubt. In OFP, sometimes, you could fire an AT4 or whatever at a UAZ and it'd go flying up in the air... The latest update for the game fixed pretty much all the faults.

now boys do you want me to share with you a war story?
well too bad it was that one mission mauser was getting so frustrated on that he was going solo on. mission name: direct hit my objectives: blow up a few tanks in a camp secondary obj: find some intel docs well okay there i was, all alone in the dark, my primary was to the south i figured not go there considering i would be illequiped and royaly outnumbered. i headed north, moving slow with my silenced m4 at the ready, i see a small campsite with a campfire, the fools! there were 2 guys standing there, i put my dot over one of their heads, i noticed that if i made this shot, the second guy would see it, i moved my dot over his head, took the shot, and the other guy turned but he would never know what that small snap was. i walked into the camp, checked the ammo, i was like a kid in a candy store or stuff with all that stuff... but it wouldnt suite me, the only support at my disposal i had was darkness, i could easily ruin that if i used a bunch of loud weopons, which was all that was here, i had to suck it up, and go on. I was crawling through the trees and came across another campfire, 3 guards, now this might get a little hairy, i carefully picked which one to shoot first, then the second, but the third moved around and walked in front of the other two, i had to wait until someone just moved out of the way so i can kill them without them even knowing. guy number 1 moved near his tent, easy slice. *click snap* i moved my dot over the next guy's head *click snap* the third hit the dirt, but his major flaw was that campfire they never bothered to put out, i saw his helmet *click snap* i got near the camp to the far north where the intel was supposed to be, there were 50 cal emplacements allover! i couldnt beleive command wanted me to do this by myself, its practicaly suicide, hell it is just plain suicide. i pulled out my binoculars and serveyed the area, even farther north there was another small campsite with a fire, and i noticed that non of the 50 cals were covering that direction. I took a walk along the beach till i got close to that small camp, once again there were just two guys standing around, i downed them easy, i checked the ammo crates, there was exactly the same stuff as the first camp in there, a bunch of 47s 74s gp launchers, flares... rpgs.... same old same old.... but still it made me wonder how was i gonna get into that camp and get the intel that i need. i was jsut walkin some circles around the fire then it just hit me like a rock, like not even joking it was like my mind actualy had a movie director thought to it... i was gonna be as loud as i could. ak74 w/gp launcher, 6 white flares and 2 green flares. RPG-7 with 6 shots. i dropped my current equipment and loaded that up. i took the gp launcher with a flare.... turned my night vision off and waited untill my eyes adjusted. . . . . i aimed the launcher high. . . . shot it off, the flare was spectacular it illuminated the entire camp!! i switched my rpg, shot a rocket at one of the 50 cals, shot another flare, the battlefield got brighter, i saw people scrambling out of their tents to see wtf was up, my next rpg went right into the side of their mi-7 killing most of the guys walking around that area. I shot another flare off, shot and rpg at another 50 cal emplacement, shot a flare and shot a rocket at the last emplacement. i shot another flare... the battlefield seemed extremely quite. keeping the joy to myself i picked up my original kit excluding the rocket launcher, and filled up on 4 satchel charges and ammo for my m4, i headed back around the beech and saw that a few guys got to that small campfire that i was just previously, wow that was close. i got back to the side of the camp that was USED to be most fortified, now a bunch of dead bodies and began my search for the intel while some of the enemy was still in the camp, but kept their attecntion on the camp i was in. i found the intel, secondary objective complete. i left the camp quickly. i walked to just outside the camp where my primary objective was, i saw a guard in the valley to my left, didnt bother him, someone might see that and call rienforcements, i crawled up the hill, no patrols anywhere. i got to where i could see the whole entire camp, the base had several patrols up and about, a few guys hangin out but some netting. and some random guys. i counted all four of the tanks i had to destroy. i watched a patrol go past my first tank, then i crawled down and planted a satchel charge, i hid by the urals and waited for the next patrol to go past my next tank, i moved in and planted it. i leaned out and saw there where the next two tanks where, there were too many guys for me to engage. so i crawled back to the first tank, and back up the hill. and layed there thinking. aha! this will just be another diversionary plan, i went back to one the of the small camps and took an rpg, with 2 shots, 1 per tank, that was plenty. i went on over to the beach right next to the primary camp, waited until no one was neaby , then stood up with an rpg. detonated the satchels!!! i turned and blasted the 3rd tank with my rpg, reloaded as quick as i could and blasted the last tank, and sprinted the hell out of there, they were on me like a hoeboe on a ham sandwhich. i got back to the extraction boat, i could hear that attack helicopter about to come, i got in the boat and we left, mission accomplished. oooohh yeah baby, top that. |

There was this similiar mission at the near end of OFP, only you just had to steal the docs. The AI was just plain stupid, I went into Guba's house and I was literally crawling right underneath them, and got the docks. The hard part (or so it felt), was getting the hell outta there.
If you actually wanted in that mission, you coulda stolen the helicopter... But it was supposed to be a covert mission, so it didn't sound right getting in that helo... LOL. Did you find that mission hard BTW Mstenger? Chris

Well, if this is a mod, it should have its own installer. What's the name of the mod/addon BTW? And also, if you meant an addon, to get it to work, you must go to the in-game MED and see if the addon is there. If the addon doesn't work, you might need to update your game. The addon might not be compatible with your version of the game. Chris
