Well I changed the weapon profiles a bit now. Before I had it so all classes could use the Remington shotgun (after a bit of researching in my head I wanted all classes to have it because it was classified as a sidearm in the game), but now I limited it to the CQB and Gunner lol; just ain't right.

And I also limited the Gunner to the M249, M60, and M240 lol.

Feel a lot better lol. About the .dds files... The bad thing is they take up huge amounts of space when you've got heaps in. The thing that sucks is that I don't know anything about .dds files, so I took guesses matching the relevance of the objects, etc. In other words, if I added a new tree into the game, I'll have to find a .dds file that's related to trees, so it can draw the textures and all of that crap.

The bad thing is, that some of the .dds files I put probably ain't any use because they ain't any relevance (hence I took guesses). So in other words, some are just leftovers. But Nova hog space too you know lol... In their .pffs there's craploads of leftovers from other games that haven't been used!

And crap DF2 also has .pwf files. Basically the last weapon sound I want to revamp is the M249's and the AT4's. All I want to do if revamp the guns that have been in the old school DF games. And revamping gun sounds in the older DF games is easier because you can use the gun sounds they have in the .pffs, rather than just looking for low quality dumbass sounds on the Net lol. (It never works that way for some reason.)

I also want to change the .bin files and change the gun names to their more technical names...
So ''M16'' would be ''M16A2'', etc.

I'm still not sure whether I should give the shotgun to all classes too in BHD lol...
What do you think Mauser? Just think of it as if it were real life...
In the game the shotgun (Remington) is classified as a sidearm for some reason. Therefore that's why I gave it to all classes. Because if it's classified as a sidearm can't all classes handle it?
I'd try and think of it from a realistic perspective...

Chris

Update on my tweaking:

I tested out the mod, and it goes great! Added some more .dds files to fix the other stuff and I'm yet to test it out; that is, after playing some UT! (Haven't played it in a while.)

Now that new CAR15 sound I think I told yous about... I was gonna use Audacity to mix the default and special CAR15 firing sound together but I didn't wanna get too overkill... And if I did do that, there would be two different ''special sounds''. This is because the default sound was ''c15n1'', and the ''special'' one was ''c15n6''; the only way I made it so you could have that sound in the game is if I renamed ''c15n6'' to ''c15n1''; in that case, I did. But if I changed ''c15n1'', then it would be different to the ''c15n6''; as in Singleplayer, some of your teammates use ''c15n6'', so my ''c15n1'' I changed wouldn't be that ''same''.

^^Yes, bloody confusing lol. ^^

Now I'm 32% on Night's Edge mod for UT which is a kinda tactical simulator and a bit like CS lol.

my computer must be retarded, lol. cant seam to get it to work.

and if it were real life id do like i do now , id have a shotgun for anything under 30ft and a rifle for anything over 30ft, so sounds good to have a shotgun as a sidearm.

if the ai guys cant handle a shotgun they should be dressed up in a pettycoat and slippers and shouldnt be on the field, lol

Well yah that's why I was gonna enable it. If it's a sidearm then all classes should be able to handle it. But I just took it off just incase lol.

I've attached it again but as a different file name and such. If that don't work, there's something wrong.

What's the latest low-down on the modifications Mauser? You gonna turn it into an actual mod for people to download? I'm thinking of splitting my mod into partitions and hosting them one-by-one BTW.

One thing Mauser, you've played BHD right? Is there any gun sounds you think or sounds you think should be ''enhanced'' or ''changed''? I only revamped the CAR15, Barret, M249, MP5, and AT4 sounds just because they were ''old school'' and needed a revamp, and because the sounds are easier to do...

Oh dear that doesn't sound very nice...ouchies.

Again, nothing to report for me. Except that i found some code to get rid of the crosshair! Hooray!

And also Mauser, the bots in BF2 use radio commands, right? And does BF2 use 'objects.rfa' files similiar to the other battlefields? If so, i'd like to know the ai radio codes so that i can get my bots to use them.

and im still trying to figure out how to run it as a mod and set it up as a mod to run as a seperate game part as to allow the game to be played in stock mode or modded mode.

BF2 doesnt use the rfa files they still use the .CON files here and there but most things use the .TWEAK file extencion and most of the things i modded are in the objects server zip in the mods folder in the game folder.

ill have to look fer the radio commands and stuff fer i havnt even opened that file part yet.

Mauser, check here bro:
http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi...Utilities;6345

Here's the big cheese though lol... Go scavenge hunting here:
http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi...ield_2;57index

And woot!:
http://battlefield2.filefront.com/file/Mod_Wizard;44051

And front-liner, if you're lucky, you can probably change the commands for giving out orders, etc. I dunno (if voices are associated then no).

What I'd do Mauser is get the mod files and sheets I dunno but you should just pack them in the install, and in your Readme file just tell them to get a mod launcher and crap Imao... xD

I dunno lol your choice!

I feel like getting the BF1942 demo lol.

And wait:
http://battlefield2.filefront.com/fi..._Trailer;67120

BF2042 lol! Mini-mod!

So, the AI in BF2 rely on .con files for their radio commands? That still good because so do BFV AI! So erm...give us a squiz (look)

For my mod for BHD, if I can, I change change the attributes of how the gun is viewed. So I can probably make it in the middle more, etc.

All I pretty much have to do now is see if the new foliage displays properly. I added some more .dds files yesterday BTW too!

And I'm happy that all the guns that were in previous DFs now have a revamp with their old school sounds lol.

Oh, editting posts so as to not enrage others, are we Chief? Hmmm? Don't worry. I can fondly remember what you said...

Aside from some strange moderator behaviour...

Not much has been done on my end. Bots still refuse to deploy mortars, but now they are running around with Bouncing Bettys and Caltrops. Whether or not they wish to use them is beyond me. I've accidentally screwed over my binocular AI code, so i'll have to start over..

Well I looked into the ITEMS.def file and basically I can set the AI to use an AT4 at their discretion. In the file, the gun that states ''AI_LAW'' (AT4) is basically a CAR15. Now maybe Nova didn't want no AT4 to be used by AI as they might randomly use it and blow everyone up lol. :S

For some reason I can't change their primary weapon. It's like Nova actually stuck the gun to the person when modding it, so you can't really literally take the bloody gun off lol. That's sick...

I might do small weapon sound revamps on the other guns. No reason why I can't do them lol.

BTW Chief, this started off as BF2 modding. But now Mauser and front-liner are helping me as well for BHD. This is also BF1942 and BFV modding. It's pretty self-explanatory; read the posts.

Well I've decided not to change any more sounds lol. Just gotta get those .dds files for now.

Again, I've only changed some of the weapon sounds because the sounds for that weapon that were in previous DFs and DFBHD were both realistic so I wanted to combine them together (sounds unrealistic but sounds good actually lol).

Well, these are the things I'll have to do then I'm all sweet:

• Find remaining .dds files.
• Get confirmation from the creator of Deep Jungle so I can use his objects.
• Make a goddamn Readme.
• Make an install.
• Split the mod up into 10 pieces rather than downloading 25MBs at once.

And yah!

Chris

Major...HUGE...GIGANTIC breathrough in my tweaking adventures.

Bots now use anti-vehicle and anti-infantry mines with deadly abandon. They now even use caltrops in those nasty face-to-face situations.

But still much more needs to be done...and where's Mauser!?
