you do relise that there are two types of drives you have there SATA and IDE, make sure you have a SATA port on your mobo if you want it, and i would personally go for the Seagate Barracuda, its what i use and havent had a problem with them

Cheif, this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822144392 is only $124, and you get a $15 rebate.. that will make it $5 less then the 300gb. It's only $10 more to start with, and you'll get 20 more gb which is always a good deal. You never know when you'll need more space.

It seems like this is what you need chief..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815104214

But I am not 100% sure that will work for you as I have never had to used one before. That's some old school stuff right there..

I almost think it's time to upgrade your motherboard, you can get some nice cheap stable ones for $40-$50 or less. I have built 4-5 computers with cheaper motherboards and they work great. It depends on your graphics card (I assume AGP) ram and cpu.. what type of graphics card, ram and cpu do you have? A new motherboard will help alot as you will probably not come across stuff like this for a long time. Also alot of the new motherboards come with intergrated LAN & sound so you do not have to worry about buying new things like that.

Sounds like what you need cheif.. it just plugs into a pci port on your motherboard and acts like an IDE controller allowing you to hookup more ide devides to your computer.

will i never think about that i mainly need to to adapt a newer type hardware to the mother broad see it know what this new type of HHD is, but yea i can add more CD/DVD drives and more HHD to the system be sides other things like sample:

4-HHD units total or 5-HHDs> 1-MOB 4-PCI Card
2-HHD and 2-DVD/CD writers to the PCI Card.

think i going to add to the PCI-Card
1-cable to the two HHDs 300gb (master) and 40GB (slave)

1-cable both 1-CD writer (slave) and another DVD/CD writer (master)

may even work better then before with all hardware plug into it.

thats leave two free open slot's on the PCI Card
and leaves two un-use slot's on the mother broad too. were i can even more things to the system later on. need a bigger tower in this case.

Tongue

finally order the PCI-Controller today should have it in the system 3-5 working days UPS.

Cables Unlimited Ultra ATA/133 RAID PCI Controller Card

all so got my own Paypal going, there no money it in, mainly use it for rebates i get back from making orders online from others sites still got to get use to it, rebate i got was 45.00 for that new HD 300GB and send it to the bank 41.00 Paypal charge 4.00 for the use of it. man i can't believe all the bs one has to go through to setup a account with them. taken 20-30min to finish it up.

family member who help get it going said for get it ask to much info. i had to call the bank up to see if PayPal was ok for the info they was asking for. Bank America said it good service never had trouble with them before, they said if some thing bad happen they will refund the charges and look into it call them up if i have any type of charges not done by me.

Rebate.com told me i have to wait for the rebate to be mail to me 4-6wks but if i get paypal i can have it in 1-2wks mail in the rebate to them 1-wk they work on it, then send it to paypal. this is something i new to using paypal i watching very careful about it. my aunt said she got charge by them for making payment to Lowe's account she had, was charge like crazy Lowe's set her up on it.

maybe i sell my stamps catalog it wight in 20-40bls (never wight it in) i have it in a suit case. stamp from around the world most never been use and some go back in time like 80yrs and maybe back more think there one from 1780s.

i never catalog them stamps at all, most was given to me from others people around the world, some really old as hell too. god man i think there at lease 50.000 to maybe 500.000. of them when i look at them they are in binder about 12 of them binder full of stamps (they 21-23bls)

Seagate HDD

Seagate HDD

Comments: Seagate drives are the best on the market, hands down. We use Seagate exclusively and have had less than 5 out of 300+ go bad over 7+ years! Better than can be said for WD!

Just making the thing clearer, I think you should go for the 400GB HDD, if you do go for the 400GB HDD
make sure it has a good warranty, I do not see why not you need a Hard Drive with guts of memory but
it may run faster for your computer.

Chris_OJB_DF645 --Some day or now you should get it

will thats the PCI-Controller i needed for the new Hard drive, i needed it do to my system setup only could see it as a 128GB and not as 300GB.

will its a cheaper way till later some time 2006 i get the new tower, i may add this PCI-Card to it anyways or maybe not.

will its working out good now, seem to load items up faster and defrag will faster were it was slow before.

its weird i defrag the 40GB and i defrag the 300GB its about the same amount of time to defrag each of them.

the 300GB already has 16gb and the 40GB has about 19GB but they both defrag about the same amount of time 20min to get the job done.

some reason smart disk not working any more? for the HDs
