I was gonna mention VBS2.

Armed Assault is basically VBS2, while Operation Flashpoint is VBS1.

I didn't actually know in one point in time that games like LW could be used training software, but I believe the best video games out there as for training is OFP and ArmA (the games I mentioned above).

At least in those games you actually have to THINK before you shoot. I've tried shooting and running in OFP, nope that doesn't work. I've tried to rack up heaps of kills in that game - that doesn't work (I usually only kill about 10-15 people in one mission if I'm lucky enough, and this is SP). Oh yeah, and you have teammates that you WANT to keep alive. It's not like DF where you don't give a rat's butt if Alpha or Charlie team die. In these two games, if your teammates die, you're screwed.

No wonder why ArmA got bad reception lol... "too realistic". There's no fake gun drawn on the screen with a hand holding it like in the DF games. In OFP and ArmA, what you see is what you get. There's no bullet tracer going from the end of the gun to the middle of the screen. In these two games, it's different. It's also not like in standard FPSs where when you move the gun, it's in the same position wherever you move or wherever you look.

These types of games IMO are the best for training. Although I would not substitute real-life training for this.

Okay, a bit off-topic I think. Apologies.

Chris

You must have 1.00 patch - the latest is like 1.10 or something lol. Although the realism can be amazing, it can sure pee you off sometimes. It sure did for me in OFP. Recently I got the expansion pack for OFP, Resistance. A very great campaign/storyline. Ending was pretty sad though. :/

There's sh*tloads of fixes:
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/A...ersion_History

If that's not crazy, then I've no idea what is.

I'm not sure if there's a patch that'll take you straight to the latest version. Or you might have to download each patch one by one (each one's like 500mb+). :/

I wanna try and keep as on-topic as I can lol, so feel free to start a new thread somewhere.

Paint is fine also.
Aslong as i can bring my old squad buddy's, no militia can touch us.. We werent trained in a set and fixed order.. We think for ourselves, unlike many other military's.

And yeah maybe my side is a bit one sided also, but why is the system of gun banning working in so many country's then? Almost all of europe has those laws.. And yeah some criminals but not as many as in the US when youre going to compare..

I live in America, and the one thing I can say about it is that we will never ban guns.

It's just like drugs ... guns are illegal in many other countries, but many of those citizens probably have them, and then other countries drugs are legal... you can't stop it, you make something illegal all that does is raise demand for that object.

and here many narcotics are illicit, but does that stop the masses? no. Marijuana is Florida's #2 cash crop.

even if they did make guns illegal .. what is the government going to do? raid every house and every nook and cranny looking for guns? So many Americans have guns ... all you have to do is go to some gun expo and there you go, 100 bucks and 0 wait time later you have yourself a pistole. It'll almost be more trouble than it's worth.

I'm not trying to be one sided, I myself have firearms (most of them have not even been fired and worth in the thousands), but just trying to be real. If they ever wanted to ban guns in America, it's passed the point of no return. Crimes have not ceased in other countries just because guns are banned.

It's just like everything else the majority of the other industrialized countries have, like universal health care for example, things like this just simply will not work in America.

they are only banning guns in the Washington D.C. area to help "protect" the president and all the government workers and all that, so not really much to worry about lol

I personally think that we need to update the Constitution and bring it in 21/22 century. So many amendments have been made to it that what started as a simple cheese pizza turned into a pizza with different topping for each slice. (I was hungry when I was writing this post )

your right VooDoo, they can ban all gun but as simple as they are to make it would be pointless, they could take every gun in the US today and 6months or less there would be thousands of them, i can walk into any hardware store and come out with the parts for the gun, the powder, the primers, bullets, etc.

but it would effect the entire countrys laws conserning guns, the way the Supream Court is set up if they rule on something it becomes pretty much the law of the land just like Row Vs Wade, but they arnt ruling on only the gun ban they are also ruleing on wether the second amendment says that the people have the right to own guns ir it just suports the states right to a armed militia.

and the constitution doesnt need a update, thats where most people make the mistake in thinking it is outdated and needs an overhaul, if they redid the constitution they would take a lot of things that protect people from the government, just like these states that redid their state constitution, they took the boarders out of the states and without the states boarders where does the local governments power begin and where does it end, they gota take the boarders out because under the NAU or North American Union there are no states , why you think these senators were pushing so hard all of a suddent to redo the states constitutions?, the US is devided into regions with local governing bodies, you have seen the regions when you was in school, can yall remember the regions of the US that yall studied in grammer school that had the production regions for wheat, oil, etc? that was to get you used to the idea, the real regions of the US or the 10 Federal Regions are the real deal.

here is a pic of the regions the way they want to devide the country if the new world order gets their way and a article telling about when this regionalism started.

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA OFFICIALLY ABOLISHED THE INDIVIDUAL STATES IN 1972!

President Nixon, via Executive Order, quietly reorganized the United States' 50 individual states with a 10-Region Plan. The implementation of this Regional Plan awaits only the right moment in world history, and the right set of crises.

The above map shows the ten (10) Regions under which the United States has actually been operating since 1972. These 10 Regions are Administrative Units of the United Nations. All the people of the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, were placed under the control of the above 10 Regions. Hawaii was placed under the control of Region IX and Alaska was placed under the control of Region X. [Information taken from the Commission For Constitutional Treaties, P.O. Box 1776, Hanford, CA 93232]

President Richard Nixon issued Executive Order # 11647 on February 14, 1972, which created this new country. How did he conceive this reorganization plan? The United Nations passed a resolution that the United States must reorganize into 10 super regions and President Nixon complied with this Executive Order. Obviously, this plan would not have survived the exposure that would have been necessary for Congress to have enacted this plan. Therefore, Nixon utilized the awesome, and often, illegal, power of the Executive Order to create this reorganization.

here is a link to the executive order that Nixon signed, and this is a government website so no1 can say i just made this **** up.
you will have to have the PDF reader to view the document.

http://profiles.nlm.nih.gov/RM/A/A/E/Y/_/rmaaey.pdf

and this isnt all of it, after the US is redone into these 10 Federated Regions after they intentionaly create a crisis and suspend the constitution they will merge Canada, Mexico and the US as acording to the treaty known ans NAFTA that desolved the boarders of the US, that is the big reason there is no desire to close the boarders, because under the new NAU or North American Union the US nolonger exists but is part of this regional government system.

and ya stil think im full of it this next pic came off a government controlled website for the EPA at this address,http://www.epa.gov/epahome/violations.htm

and if ya se that and still nothing then check this government site and pic out, http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/n...ional_def.html

there are 6 main regions and that is sub devided into 10 Federal Regions.

i can post pics and links to this stuff all day.

There are a lot of "laws" that the average american thinks protect him that are not contained in the constitution and don`t exist elsewhere.

That is why america is getting screwed by the large companies that own this country.

For example if you get sick at work and need to go home your work can force you to stay there as long as they want and fire you if you do go home. There is no law defined that protects you in this way...I wrote the legislature and labor comission and they confirmed it.

What is this stuff about the NAU

That got to suck! Here you get 80% pay for up to 14 days aslong as you let the company you work for know. The company can't say no

I am just trying to point out the fact that many people have a false sense of safety but when they need it, the law is not on their side or it doesn`t exist at all.
