AMD Athlon "Mobile" XP2800-M Barton 266FSB (Socket A) CPU - OEM

Experience high-performance notebook computing with the mobile AMD Athlon™ XP-M processor. By incorporating advanced features such as QuantiSpeed™ architecture and 3DNow!™ Professional technology, the mobile AMD Athlon XP-M processor allows notebook systems to run the most demanding Microsoft® Windows® compatible business and multimedia applications available today, with ample performance headroom for tomorrow's advances in software and operating systems.
The main feature of the mobile Athlon processor is the fact they come unlocked so you can adjust the multiplier which is ideal for overclocking. Also AMD only hand pick the best cores for the mobile Athlon processors which allow them to run at a low Vcore voltage of just 1.45v, again making these CPU's ideal for the overclocking community.

(to be overclocked for her pleasure

GeIL 512MB PC3200 Golden Dragon CAS2

The high speed is achieved from GeIL industry-leading engineering technology: Wafer Level Chip Scale Package (WLCSP). Each chip is directly mounted to the module PCB in its original wafer format and die size without any type of conventional packaging. Thus, there are no soldering legs as with the conventional method. This breakthrough technology would not only dramatically reduces the electro-magnetic noise, but the module also produces very little heat under stressed operation. The end result is high bus clock speed and low operational temperature. No heat spreader is required. And because of its low electro-magnetic noise (EMC), when equipped, the computer receives higher system-wide stability and greater over-clocking potential.

- 184pin, Non-ECC, Un-buffered, high performance DDR memory modules
- Hand Picked GeIL 5ns 32x8 Density WLCSP DDR Chip
- 6 Layers Ultra Low Noises Shielded Golden Dragon PCB
- Dragon Eye: One red led on PCB board for memory module ON/OFF detection
- CAS 2 6-3-3-1T @ DDR400 PC3200
- 2.55V-2.95V
- Classic Asian antique-type black retail package.
- Lifetime return to manufacturer warranty

yeah i know... 512... but i cant afford any more. maybe next month i will get another 512 to make use of the dual RAM thingy, but it will have to do for now

before anyone says...

yes the chip is a 'mobile' chip.

this is designed for a laptop but is extremeply popular and value for money because the tight gits at AMD have started locking all their chips so u cannot over clock 'em... except the mobile processors, which also run at 1.45 volts. not only are the chips overclockable by being unlocked, you can increase the voltage by a long way = insance overclocks, woo woo.

333 FSB IS A LITTLE SLOW!.... mine runs at 533 and they have 833 now... but that for p4's though... is there a difference with the AMD FSB speeds...?

Well Amd's new processer runs at 1200mhz or 1600mhz (can't remember which) fsb. So...AMD's kick pentiums trash anyway. Mine runs at 333 and it is an AMD 2800+ 2ghtz

I wasn't talking about processor speed atholon... steve is talking about Front Side Bus.... you know pipeline speed... my P4 runs 2.6GHZ at 533MHZ that is what I meant... I don't have anything against AMD.... I used to have one...
and thanks for answer my question steve... much appreciated!

im not sure why u cant edit, you can in most of the forum sections, it must have got missed in this one i guess :O

again it is even more weird as the setting you put in the BIOS is 1/2 the FSB, so stock would be 133, but mine is runnning 200 x 11 (multiplier) = 2200 MHz

and just to throw in another, with a Barton processor, the PR rating of a 2200 MHz chip = 3200+

don't even ask about RAM timing >_<

I saw on a site that the new AMD 64 could run at a FSB speed of 1200mhz.

Their double pumped.. so a 200mhz, is 100mhzx2 they work at the rising and the falling of the clock..
the Pentium 4 is quad pumped, 133x4 = ~533, use to be 100mhzx4=400mhz, and now it's 200mhzx4=800mhz FSB.. the New althon 64 uses Hyper Transport which is fast, but a bit different then the traditional FSB. Also when AMD doesn't it's PR rating, it takes into account the L2 cache also, which usually is, the more L2 cache, the faster the CPU can be, under certain conditions. that's one reason why the Pentium 4 Extreme Editions are so fast, they have a 2.5MB of L2 & L3 cache, which when u have a program that can effectively fill up that L2 & L3 cache makes it fast.
