Fixed sizes

Can anyone possibly answer this question for me if you can please?

You know when you select the rectangular select tool and go to "Fixed Size", and let's just say I entered "512 x 512", how would I stop the tool from selecting "outside" the image?

Like for example, I would click to the corner, and sometimes the 512 x 512 selected would go outside the dimensions of the image. I want it to be strictly INSIDE the image.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks guys.

Chris

Make sure the image size is larger than 512x512. Thats the only solution I have. Never had a problem with that before.

what are you trying to do? i mean if you wanted to select the whole area then just ctrl+a ? or try moving the selection with the arrow keys one pixel at a atime until it's perfect fit.

Never mind, for some reason it doesn't do it anymore.

But see the attachment for what I was trying to say before.

And yes Steve I could use the arrow keys to move it so it's perfect but sometimes I'd like to be fast about it and just click the corners lol.

Hmm well a few days ago when it was on full screen, it extended. Now on full screen it doesn't. Oh well lol. I don't really mind anyway if it extends, since the reason why I didn't want it to extend was solely because of one thing I was trying to do, but I don't need to do it anymore.
