Send a message via ICQ to Steve
please list what you don't need, e.g. monitor? keyboard? mouse? case?

No you wont get much if any lag in almost any game on the market at the moment. That could change tomrrow though.. I do reccomend if you want a power pc go for at least a 4000+ and x850XT graphics. Will make the total around £800 or so but you'll pretty much have what I have and i get no lag what-so-ever

I never had a problem with Seagate. I have owned 2 in the past. The only ones I ever had problems with were Maxtor, they seem to get loud after awhile. I have 2 WesternDigital now and they run great, never tried anything other then thoes 3 brands.

Hehe I have had the opposite. With my company WD harddrives go out a lot more than Maxtors.

might wanna back that data up P

worst drivers ever: fujitsu, i dunno the exact ammount but they made a hundred thousand drives that were defective, our company has to replace these all the time.

the seagate drives that have the black rubber/plastic jacket on are bad also.

and the slimline maxtor drives should be avoided to

personally ive been ok with HDD's, i have a 4 year old maxtor that is a bit noisy, but i have no room for it on my system anyway

currently using:

200 GB Maxtor SATA
74 GB WD Raptor (10k rpm ) SATA
20GB WD ATA
20GB Maxtor ATA
120GB Maxtor ATA
120GB Maxtor ATA

lol damn for a computer like that you gatta drop like 2000 or more american ...

just some suggestions .. i'd get a western digital 7200 rpm harddrive ..

socket 939 on motherboards .. and a AMD cpu .. the one panther posted is good ..

for the video card look at what slot it takes .. make sure if its APG u get a mother board for that and if it's PCI express get a motherboard for that ...i think the best pci express card is by nvidia..

and at least a 400 watt antec (there good brand) power supply

2 gigs of ram should be good ..even though that FEAR game has likea recommended requirment of that much lol

I only paid around $1,300 USD for mine.. The price of my cpu has dropped like $150 bucks since then (only about 2 months). But the ram I got (in sig) went up 75 bucks 2 days after I got it!

I have a seagate with the rubber jacket, I used it for 2 years and then put it in a computer that I built. No problems at all with it, dosen't make any noise. Hitachi are supposed to be some nice drives too although I have never used one.
