Wink StevieB is a double hard Bstard (how I adapted his map tutorial)

Having aquired the neccessary tools to follow StevieBs terrain tutorial I thought I'd give it a go.
All very well but its a faf using bryce5 just to make the colour map for the terrain. Most of which suck anyhow.

The I though HANG ON! why not colour in my own terrains. Now I knew the file names it couldnt be that hard. So I messed about with some gradients and stuff but found it really hard to get results worth crowing about.

Then I struck on a stupid idea.

I took a picture of an old girlfriend, jumped it up to 1024x1024 and saved it as the _c.tga
Then I switched to greyscale, discarded the colour and went to photshop contrast and upped the brightness and eased the contrast right down. saved that as the _d.pcx and wahay!

I can now shoot all over the face of my favourite woman.
Again!!!!

Biggrin

Here is a picture of what the terrain looks like.
Its probably not the best in the world but it took about 10 minutes using SBs tutorial.

The Mayan Temple thing is sat in the sunglasses and you can just make out her nose and mouth further on!!!
