DF1 freeze up
This is the second time playing DF1. First time had no problems except the satchel charges would not work, (this time also). But my problem is in Novoya Zemlya "Pandora"s Box". After getting laptop from second story of bldg, I head to Extraction Point N. When reaching bunker on the hill I go in kill enemy and before I can leave the game freezes up, Not Responding is what I get from Windows Task Manager. I've tried this three different times and results are always the same. Can someone please help. Thank You in advance.

What version of Windows?
So it is always in the same spot?

I have Win. XP SP2, Pentium 4 2.20 GHTZ, ATI Radion 9200 vid.card w/most recent drivers and not running any antivirus or anti-spyware programs while playing.
Same spot, hhhhmmm. Occurred once while looking out of bunker window, once immediately after shooting bad guy, and once at bunker door upon exit. All inside bunker. Not to sound an ungratefull "Ahole" but I have a feeling your going to tell me not to go in the bunker or go another route around it but I don't like being shot in the back. Those nasty SOB's can see through walls and even earth if your prone. Still any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd say that if it is just that map that it freezes on that you'd probably need to reinstall DF1. Sounds like one of the files has been corrupted.
If you reinstall you may need to completely delete the DF1 directory before doing so. That way it will clean everything.

Atholon, William, Thank you both very much for the help, I will try both. Before Uninstall is there a way to save all the campaign levels I've finished so I can play the few single player maps I've found.

If it happens on all maps then it's probably most likely you're comp, but a reinstall is advised yes.

look in DF one game folder for a file XXXXX.sav should have sav at the end of the file name
this is your game save file there maybe more then one in there if so move them to a folder like on desktop so when you re-install the game all you have to do place them back into the game folder my main computer at this time is down no game play for me lol

Thanks William, I couldn't find any save file, but did see PLY files, player01.ply thru player09.ply. Don't know if this is it or not, this is wayyyyy to confusing for me. As much as I hate to I quess I'll just delete and start over.
Anyway hate to keep dragging this out but do you know why the satchel charges don't work? I have the latest patch from Novalogic's website. This also happened the first time around.

Satchels don't work for me as well david. I played the whole 5 campaigns in DF1 without using satchels, and I managed to go all the way to the end successfully. Use LAWs bud.

Now that you mention it I seemed to have a problem with that as well. It has been such a long time...

Thanks Chrispy. Laws and an occasional grenade or two is the only way I've made it this far. Thanks for all the help guys, I'm off to do an uninstall and go through it again. Hollar at you later.

so what if they can see thru walls and earth? youve got 47 grenades, no scope drift, and a saw with no recoil?
