Confused IP changes

For some odd reason, I've just found out that every day my IP changes for some reason. I found this out while playing online in AoE...

I scanned for computer for any adware, spyware, etc. and nothing really, other than MRU Lists and tracking cookies...

I'm also on dialup as well.

I dunno what the heck's going on, and it seems really unusual for the IP to change every day... Is this the case for you guys as well?

I dunno if it's every day, or just when you reconnect back to the net (likely to change when reconnecting), but seriously, what the hell is going on...?

Any help totally appreciated.

Chris

Re: Re: IP changes

Yep, with dial up you get assigned an IP address by the ISPs DHCP server when you connect. When you disconnect you release that IP address. Therefore the likelihood of you getting assigned the same IP address each time you connect is usually very low - depends on how the ISP have their hardware set up, the amount of users and the amount of IP addresses they have available.
