I have tryed several methods to get my modem working including "MAC spoofing".
None seem to work, guess my ISP does not work with linux.

One thing I cannot understand is why linux drivers/software does not always come with all the required dependences.

For a "supireor operating system" linux can be a real pain in the ass.

nice sounds like good times ahead

i have to say the one, BIGGEST mistake Novalogic EVER made (besides releasing glitchy/buggy products) is not making a linux stand alone server for them... EVERY other big game i can think of has one.
Battle field, unreal, half life, sof, etc

That would be cool to run it on linux. I am sure that NL has some crazy version of the program that does not take up as much processing power or memory.

im sure they do, at least for the hosting company (sci is it?)... it would cost to much to run window's boxs i think, but ic ould be wrong.... you would be paying an arm and a leg and perhaps a first born for those pricey servers...

just another big mistake in there long list.

maybe one day they will evolve into a *more* professional gaming company, WITH the *gamer* in mind; not there bank account(s)

Yeah, I much prefer Ubi soft. Not to mention their games look much more realistic and play more realistic.

and you paid like 200$ for that ...

lol linux comes with open office (all the stuff as ms) and still never crashes

I just wish Nova would make a stand alone server for there games, so they werent so "resource" intensive

Hehe I paid $200 for XP home. Sad thing is I heard so much crap about XP when it first came out that I bought ME instead. Luckily the store took it back and I got Xp home. I now have Windows 2000 and XP home and they kick butt!

I got my 2nd copy of XP home for $125 (could have gotten it for $109 at a different store), the reason is that it is OEM.

But you have to buy computer hardware at the same time. So, get a $10-15 keyboard and you could save quite abit.

The only disadvantage is that your free techsupport gets cut down, but I don't care I have only used microsofts help once, and that didn't even help :-)

Don't worry about that. For full version they only help you once for free and then they charge you. And like you said the support sucks.
My friend got his copy for $100 and it is not OEM....to my knowledge. I built his computer.

My biggest complaint with windows XP is the limit they have on the activation. After 10 activations, you have to call microsoft to re-activate.

But I guess that is the price the innocent people have to deal with thanks to the people who use illegal copies of windows
