Sky problem

Hi all,

Me and my dad have a very ennoing sky problem when on a custom map on the internet.
It is only on day-time custom maps and this problem even shows sometimes inside.

Description of how it looks:
- When you would look at the sun it all looks normal but then when you just look down, everything drags, down to the ground where everything looks normal,,, this ofcourse causes a substantial increase in lag and jumpiness.

My pcs specs (my dads pc is similar):
GeForce 6600GT 256MB (PCIX)
Windows XP pro (SP2)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+
2 GB DDR2
Asus K8N4E Deluxe

If its what i think you mean its probaly the alititude or whatever.Where sometimes you go up on a moutain and its like the day becomes tinted little due to your above the altitude level or something.

From reading it thats what it seems to be just itslike a smokey see thru fog, i forgot, but it does that when your at some high points.

It shouldnt lag though if its that.

Provide some pictures if you can?

Wait is the the Tile effect Like when you go form Sky to ground you get a Skipping image

if so

it could be Connection, maps itself, your gfx card.

yep it is a tiled effect from trees you run past, stay dragging in the sky, etc...

but i doubt its connection because when i play on my favorite custom map snipers only server, one map it will be fine and then the next map it could also be fine, but then the map afterwards would be like that, or sometimes even the first map i join in on,,, i presumed it was from the map, but since its a server with 25 ppl and no one else had that prob i was thinking it had to do with GFX card, but i have all the latest drivers, and originially it only did it to my dads px and then when i upgraded my pc, then mine also did it

like i said in my first post with my pc specs, i have a GeForce 6600GT 256MB (PCIX)

and yes i do have the latest drivers, and the latest game update for BHD-TS, my theory is that my pc might just be to modern for the game :P

You might have to adjust your video settings in game where you go to options and adjust all your gameplay things!Bad settings can affect the way things look too!

Does it do the sky issue on every map or what?

It may be something wrong with your video card!I mean i have seen it before im sure i just cant remember where!I will let you know im going to think of this some!

By the way does it do it for every game you own?Or how many does it for?

Really i think its a video card issue do to the graphics of the game if they are doing stuff like that mean somethings up with it!I have had that happen once like i said before!Might even try reinstalling your nividia card and latest drivers!

6600's in my older pc's have always ahd a tendency to overheat and cause video problems Try adding a fan to your case that will blow air on your Gfx card or you Cpu is getting overloaded.

it only happins to this game and only on custom maps and only on custom maps with one type of sky
all the other games work better than perfect :P (old and new games)
and all the other BHD and BHD-TS custom maps and standard maps work fine

I am 100000 procent :P shure that the GFX card works fine and is not overheating

I am sure it's because you have the latest nvidia drivers, try going to a previous set

Sine it only does it with tah one certian map dont use it.

but if you need to use it make do what coldkilla said and try older drivers.

well not on that one map, but on all the custom maps which use the same sky

and as far as the drivers, i cant go back to older drivers since i play the newest games which do not work well with the older drivers... sry to be so hard

Well heres 3 things i thought of you can try doing:

Reinstall Video Card with latest drivers
Reinstall Direct x 9.0c
Reinstall the game

Your files for something may of got corrupted so i would go down that list and try each one.But i would only reinstall game if 1 and 2 does not work.After you do both 1 and 2 then go try the game out and if it does not work then reinstall game then go try it out!

K i tried it exactly as you said, and it still doesnt work
so far not even novalogic has been able to help, but who knows, maybe one day I'll get the solution some how :P

...My dad has a new pc, all new parts, all that is the same is his GFX card and his GFX drivers (GeForce 6600 GT PCIX), the system is a fresh install, including BHD-TS, and it still does it on his system aswell, so ill just grab another nvidia GFX card from my parents store, one which is on the compatibility list, and it should work then, if not then ill be totally in the twilight zone :P

k it is indeed the drivers, the only fix is older drivers, now off to emailing nvidia to see if they could fix it in the next version,,, i know the 7x.xx version work for BHD

If you get a new video card just get Nvidia's latest which is 7800 last i checked.I got a 6800 and is kinda retarded 7800 came out not long after i got my great computer.I think they should of ordered one and put it in there due to im sure it was on its way to stores around the time.Now i am going to have to pay when i can to upgrade it to a 7800 or whatevers higher at the time.

7600Gt is best for the Prce 150-200 ish and the 7900 Series is the newest.

From my hearing it is your Video card it does not have the power to push the Map causing poor frame rates then causing screen lag (Skipping/ Splicing of the sky)

The problem is the driver it self

If you use NVidia card try out driver version 77.72 from Nvidia.com

It solfed the problems for a lot off members
