If you ever intend on going into the military...I'd try and join as an officer.

In the USA if you have a 4 year degree in college then you just take officer school and you become one (obviously not that simple) but if you join as a nothing then it will take you longer than that to become a CO.

in the U.S.A don't go for ROTC they suck, i seen some officers come out of it! they could not even read a compass at all and use a map.

A "LT NG" (Thats his full last name NG) come to mind!! i had to treach the fool how to use them! i was a PFC/E-3 back then.

i was always planning 2 go in2 the army as full time.... but ive got friendly with a few ppl and just cant picture having to leave them for months on end.... so im starting temporary work at the airport on monday... £7.63 an hour (around $15)... so im gonna c if they will keep me on full time.. if i like it tht is

until u reach the age of 16.. i wudnt think too much about careers simply bcos u will change ur mind hundreds of times.. lol

think the dollar vs U.K Pound is way lower then U.K pound or german Mark for that matter, Chrispy you be working dirt cheap in the U.S if you move to the USA, i would think about that again, all the crappy new laws being pass becoming harder to save money

Although these guys may not be seen as peacekeepers, many of HM forces including Aussies and Kiwis go into an unhealthy area totally unarmed not even with an issued sidearm. This is so dumb it is amazing to see some inexperienced officer, so concerned with peace and human rights, neglect his own men, most the time these middle class bred twits have never seen a dead person, ever full stop.
Naturally the first to go is him, just like TV, the guys you are with will have a 'healthy' sport of hunting the local game, lions tigers, spiders snakes etc etc, as justfication of having a piece around that just might help you out at the right moment ( I kept a 9 rnd beretta shotgun under my bain maree
for rats naturally...lol).
The further your boss/bosses are from the ground you stand on, the more DEAD you are, ask any German, and peacekeeping today is a politically managed affair, this is what the white house and the us army have reliazed over the last 20 years, so the person issuing the orders is the lying bastard, the average politician, in other words, you and your team NEED a good exit

and atholon, i wouldnt want to be a officer, you will have to make decisions that would cause some1 their life, and you are responcable for the unit you are commanding, and if you screw up it kills half of if not all of them, to much responsability for me, im more of a solitary person, me and 1 other i can deal with, i have never been able to get used to large grupes of people, i tend to get violent.


and william was talking about not a lot of jobs for infantry skills cept for police and security if ya lucky, it even harder to find work if ya were ever a wetboy, not much call for them skills unless ya wana erase people for the syndicate, it ok if ya havnt got a problem with killing, ya dont even have to worry bout the turkey, they got cleanup people thatll bag it up and despose of it, they do take care of ya thoe, depending on the rabbit ya can get up to $200,000.00, only problem is with them, ya cant get out that easy, once ya join them ya basicly are part of the family and only way out is if ya die or retire, prob is both can be considered as retirement.
