alright so i go out and spend all this money on this program, when installing it says with about 15 sec left "verify that you have access to this file" its a file in the system32 folder, i have no clue what to do so anyone help?

k this is what it says exactly:
Error 1304. Error writing to file:
C:\windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx.
Very that you have access to that directory.


i am the admin account and this isnt the only program it says this for, recently i tried installing tiger woods 2004 and it says the same thing... discreet has nothign of a sort on the website, so if you have any suggestions please give them. ty.

system resotre is your friend everyime i format i install most needed progs and then i create a system check point so if anything happenes u can allways go back to good working settings

nah system restore didnt do anything, i whiped out the whole computer and it still doesnt work lol

this is for office xp but it might be the same problem
it might be your cd rom

or i dont know if u telling the truth that u bought those two progs but if u downloaded somewhere and created a cd from image file that could be a problem try burning on slower speed and theres a realy good prog called alcohol 120 i would use that for creating cd's from images

well i used alchohol 120 and it still has same problems for other problems also, but wiht the cd-rom drive should i update it or something

like i said it might be problem with ur cd rom try updating drivers or something

or if it allows u to skip the file, just skip it and get a copy from a friend who has the same progs installed.
