Don't have one. I rarely get viruses and if I do it is because I am moron and shouldn't have opened something.

I don't think your a moron or anything thats come close to being one. some times you come up with some great things in the forum.
if you really don't have a anti-virus program at all, i do know one for you really great for home users and it free totally. it cover messagers/web-browser/internet-sites/e-mail/P2P transfers programs/HHD-shield and much more.

I rairley get viruses either. maybe 2 or 3 in a few years. Only 1 did some damage and that was because my friend downloaded some junk off kazza..
I decided to use nortons anyways because I have alot of junk on my PC that would kill me if I lost it.. Nortons sucks, when you do get one, it seems to get past it first then tries to clean it out, but always sais access to the file was denied.. Mcafee's just kills it, will not let it run, and will delete it before you have a chance to do anything. Which sucks sometimes but at least it did it's job. The options in mcafee suck, nortons options are great, but IMO is only good for telling you that you have one.. Have gotten a little bit of spyware, but haven't gotten any in 6 months or so... I don't see how people get all this spyware / viruses like my brother (240 on last scan).. but they do..

i don't use them, just don't download any programs that you think are risky, don't get files from people who you don't trust, and don't go to sites you have no clue about, and also I think Norton is more of a virus than an actual virus protector, cause it just runs up processes on your computer, and is just a real crappy program imo

Panther and ®ampage
like to see what you think of it: give this one a try then talk about it ok Link: http://www.avast.com/eng/down_home.html remark: free and you can use it for 60days and you can register it for free for 15mo no fee or gimmic to it ether. you may never use any other out there. i have all type of anti-virus programs they do seem to kill the system or over work it, i have to agreed with you, but i think you like this one. all i saying try it, you can un-instill it if you don't like it ether. there no adware or anything like that to it, they have a saying why should you buy some to when you did not ask to get a virus in the first place. if you do try it out check out all the option there are in it, you may like what it do for you. =========================================== they have other type of anti-virus programs for servers, lotus and more. look under program up top. or on main home page of the site.

Yeah P that is how I got a virus, it was over Kazaa...
Anyway, I don't like real time antivirus programs because they take up too much memory and processing.

Hmm I posted this on NERDHQ but this is the story.
Last night I went on some site because I was searching for something on google. I can't remember the site or I'd warn ya'll not to go there but anyway it kept popping up with Active X prompts and I clicked no on every one. It installed the crap anyway. It loaded my computer with 10000000 spyware programs. Actually it was 98. Anyway it scared the crap out of me because after running 2 spyware scanners Microsoft Anti Spyware and Spysweeper, I was still having popups when I was not even using IE. Turns out the culprit was something call qlbop or qlpop. It was not detected by any antspyware program. Anyway, I went into MSCONFIG to nuke it and restarted, it had reenabled itsself again. Now I tried ending the process and nuking the files in the registry and then restarting. It enabled itsself again! What I did was I went to safe mode and searched the registry for qlbop and nuked everything with that name. Then I scanned my computer for any exe or dll files with that name and nuked them again. To top it off I ran MSCONFIG again and nuked it. I installed norton because I thought I might have a virus...ran a scan and it picked up yet more spyware but no viruses.

on popups never click on any of it, just hit alt F4 to close it. i use zonealarm serurity suite which is firewall antivirus, i never had a problem with virus's or spy/ad ware. and for all who use kazza and other simular programs, there is a virus going round, Nopir worm, it wipes all MP3 files off your pc

I don't have any Mp3's on my computer that I don't have on cd so it doesn't bother me.
BTW I tried the ALT + F4 and it did not close it. I also tried task manager but since the crap was installing itsself I could not get into task manager fast enough. Should'a just killed the power
