Post looking for a CMS / blog site thing :/

i really cannot be bothered coding something myself. and i'm tired of just sitting and waiting for something better to come along all the time.

i saw a page (edit - looked in my history it was this one: http://www.got3n.com/ ) that was using http://wordpress.org/ and this seems like a decent tool to use for a personal site.

i think i could use something like that as long as it was easy enough to change the content of the side part.

anyone know of any similar things they can recommend?

remember i cannot code and its should be pretty easy to use and customise

I changed it to "./"

I think it's bad programming (for the end user) to use the full server path. I got countless emails with people having problems with the full server path in my scripts because a. they dont know what it means, b, they have no idea what it's supposed to be. I started using "./" and I haven't gotten an email since..

The only time I have ever had to use it was when I wanted to include a file from outside the ROOT folder.. which I have only done with expermient, and never with an actual script. I don't know why php programmers still use that instead of just "./". At least set that as the default and if there are problems (there wont be) then ask them to change it.

seems weird that the script auto writes it wrong. :/ especially confusing for a non-code person like me

i'm not familiar with ./ at all, is it a .php thing?

I know that is used for parent directory (when executing files) in linux, had no idea it was used on windows too

its not just php thing.. (i suck at explaining but here it is)

./ just means anything AFTER the working directory like

/home/stevieb/ is you working directory, you put your files in the folder /stevieb/.

./ can work with

/stevieb/
/stevieb/stuff/
/stevieb/stuff/something
etc..

But it cannot work with

/home/
/home/stuff/
/home/stuff/something

because it comes before /stevieb/ or is not in the /stevieb/ directory; IE, not the "working" directory. (you can get fancy and put two dots and make the working directory /home/ tho, but thats another thing)

Another example

so making someone specify the full path (which they probably don't know, and in sb's case neither did the script) it would have just been better to use ./ since the blog script is not going to need anything before the working directory.
