Tunnels and Video cards ??????????
Have a video problem , well question. While playing BHD online, tunnels are almost impossible. When in tunnels the game play gets very rough and sort of sticky...not framing but just not smooth at all. I did a test and downlaoded a tunnels map and served it up and played it myself and was fine. I was always under the impression that the server downloads all the terrain, map and game information before the game starts, so only changes that take place during the game (player possitions blown building and such ) is the only info that has to be sent and recieved. Also do some players recieve more bandwidth than others? (heard the expression bandwidth hogs) my machine spec's 2100 xp, 512 ddr 3200 corsair ram, Gigabyte GA-7VAXp moboard, 64 meg 4200 pny video card, cable connection . download speed around 950, and up a pitiful 80 or so ...
All and any info appreciated THANKS Perplexed ........> COOLS |

u describe a frame rate problem at first but u should not have that problem with ur gfx card and set up.
the connection lag will have nothing to do with the frame rate at all. i cant figure out why you would have a problem online but not on your own, it doesnt make sense at all. this happens on all the online games when you go in a tunnel? |

Well not 100 % sure ... kinda been avoiding the tunnels after the first few times. Land Warrior use to be really framey in lots of tunnels ( lol is that a word) but was with different gfx card. Think it maybe a blinking problem in some maps? Well i guess i need more research . And on the other subject where can i get info on how different players affect the bandwidth of a game ...if they do
Thanks COOLs |

if there is a shortage of bandwidth then it is the host's fault for allowing too many players to join. this is pretty annoying as the host wouldnt get any lag at all ever, so if they are playing they get a massive advantage.
i dont believe that players in the game actually affect the badwidth, but each player will have a certain amount of lag depending on their connection. anything above 56k should be pretty much lag free (depending on locaition on the world and general internet traffic). some stupid people deliberatley download large files during games, which gives them lag in the game from the viewpoint of other players, whereas themselves play lag free (difficult to understand but it does work aparently). and some ppl unplug their cables and run then reconnect to warp across the map. a bit extreme but some freaks do this stuff!! IMHO: playing as a 56k'er - hard to kill other people, get shot before you see ppl playing against a 56k'er - trick to kill them some times but they find it harder to hit you playing as a fast connecting player - easy to kill other people with fast connections (no lag). hope this info is useful |

Thanks for the info ...seems that the more i learn on these problems the more cluttered they get .Kinda like thinking way too hard about time travel (space and time problems)
On the uploading thing , well i knew about it and in my view it enhances the game in an unfair way so it is definitely a cheat !!!!!!! Thanks again COOLs
