windows system commands

ok heres the situation ...

im writing a program in C++ that tracks a web page
hits,downloads, and saves the information to a file
im haven' hell with the command to make windows
open a iexplorer window from c++

i have tried

int main()
{
system("iexplorer");

also

system("c:\programfiles\iexplorer...")

im not sure if i need a new header in my program to allow
windows to open a window or what ....

im soooooooooooooooo damn confused......

Is it C++ or VC++?? version?

How come you not using PHP?

BTW you need header files to access any IO device

its C++ .. cant use PHP assignment is a final program
must all be done in c language .... i can make my program open a telnet window ... but not a i explorer window ... i found the system command for it .. but the system command only runs from the windows environment i cant seem to call it from
the code ive written...weird

i think ive sprouted a few more grey hairs from this one

gr8 tutorial ..just not exactly what im needin ..(good lookin out though devil...thanks bro)

that is to open files from wothin the c++ environment..IE
open and write to a file ... what im tryin to do is make a C++
code work in a windows environment .. i know there is a preprocessor directive for it ... unfortunately i cant find it
