What are usually microprosessors used for? Well if you dont know, you're washing machine, dish washer and such have a microprosessor. Can also make it into a webserver What you do is control it to control electrical aplications such as motors lights, well basicly anything really.

Hehe, want know what the project is?

Well our garage is a bit in the thiny corner and we have a Volvo V70, barley fits, around 15 cm on each side lol. Anyways, its a pain to park it there, its big and its little space so i though i would make a kind of parking aid, with a ultrasonic sound been that bounces off the car and then with ATMEGA 16 I will calculate the time of the sound beam to bounce off (around 29 ms/cm) and with this i will calculate the position of the car inside the garage and this will be projected with LEDs, might be around 30 RGB LED in the future. But untill then it will just be a couple of red yellow and green regular LEDs. and after that i might get 3 sensors, two for the side, and one in front (because its very tight in there on all sides lmao)

Hmm one in my class (37 year old woman) just had a light bulb explode above her head today, as we are speaking about it!!

Well i do have some experience as i'm an automation electrition in the base (thought base was a good name) so it helps alot.

Have done several other prodjects, like CNC door opener (the CNC door must be open so that the robot doesnt crash in to it hehe ) and several other projects.

The door was controled by the ABB robot (actually it was an old ASEA robot but its the same thing, just different name) opened it when it was about to load it and closes when it has loded it and clamped it in the CNC and then does it once again when its picking it up

3 years (plus the standard high school and such)

Its hard to say really, as we have a different school system here in Sweden we have something called "Gymnasium" and that is basicly something in between your high school and college. Its basicly a school where you lern a profession or keep reading for collage/university (basicly a mix there too)

Err what do you mean? Plus i edited my post to clearafy a bit

The last test is the hardest, and the most disapointing if you fail. If you fail 3 times you can never in your life becaome an electristion, you have to start over and lern something new

Its basicly a test on laws and saftey.

Ohh. A bachelors is a four year degree in the US. Then for 6-8 years it is Masters and then 10 for doctorate...mostly depends on what you are going into.

Not really a bachelors Ath. He said you go to school to learn a profession, so it would be more like an advanced tech school. With that route, that's all you're qualified to do (for the most part), but with a degree, it doesn't matter what you do. You can have a bachelors in farm economics and go be a manager for Lucent...the fact that you have a degree is enough.

That's pretty cool Silent. We do something that's easier: Find exactly how far in the car needs to be, then drill a hole through some sort of ball (usually a tennis ball). Tie a string through it, then nail the other end of the string to the ceiling. It's positioned in such a way that the ball is just touching the windshield. So that way, you keep driving forward until the ball touches the windshield, then you stop

Well in Sweden that person who has that degree would be punished to work with teoretical things only, atleast not work as an electristion, so its likevise. I can't do his job, he cant do what i'm educated as.

And yeah we thought about doing that but never did, going tech instead
