Office 2003 trial

Does anyone know where or how to get it...? I've tried Googling but no luck unfortunately...

I've already got Office 2003 Standard full version on his hard drive but Outlook has this problem and it keeps looking for an "SKU112.cab" file (I think due to some files being accidently deleted).

I hear the trial has that file, and I don't know how to get it, unless I know how to get the Office 2003 trial, or someone's nice enough to host the .cab file on the net for me (I have no idea how big the .cab is).

Thanks guys for any help!

Chris

the trial expired from MS because they released office 2007: http://us20.trymicrosoftoffice.com/default.aspx
so good luck finding the trial version, best bet would be on a torrent site.

but 1st result from googling SKU112.cab :

Quote:
If you do not have the installation cd and want to solve
this issue follow these steps: (works most of the time with
all sku.cab files)

1. Click on start==>run==>type
"excel /s" without quotations and click ok.

2. Once Excel is
up in safe mode with the error message in front, hold
down ctrl+Alt+Delete keys on your keyboard to bring the task manager up.

3. Click on the processes tab==>look for msiexec.exe (only the
onenext to your user name), click on it and end the process.

4. Excel should be running without an error message now==>close
Excel in safe mode==>reopen it one more time in safe mode to
check if it is opening with no error message.

5. Close Excel
/s and open Excel normally, it should work fine.

alternatively if you do get the trail, unzip/unrar the file and extract sku112.cab

/edit -checked my 2003 install cd and the file is not there. sorry could have hosted it for ya.

do you have the Office 2003 Cd?

there is a repair option it will replace any file that ether been deleted or gone bad as will most of the time don't need the Cd to repair ms office 2003.

open up Ms word> click-on "Help" look down the listing see "Detect and Repair..." click-on this. will ask do you like to save your setting yes unless you don't care then no. it will scan all files to see if there is any thing that is missing or gone bad. may take time but it will repair MS Office 2003, a small box will come up saying it finsh repairing Office 2003

[ IT or Retail version ]
1.) open up Excel, word, Outlook 2003
2.) Help> Detect and Repair
3.) it will now scan and repair MS Office 2003

don't know if the MS Office 2003 Demo have repair option or not.

I don't have the Office disc unfortunately...

Hmm, I'll try that solution Steve. I've read something similiar ages ago but never went to try it out. BTW, my Office version is Office Standard 2003 - do you have the exact same one? This Standard edition only has Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel...

Since so many people have had this .cab problem, you'd think that somewhere the .cab would be hosted on the net and easy to find - but I've looked for it for a long time and haven't found nothing. So I thought the file was really big because it never "really" got hosted...

Okay, I've tried that safe mode thing and no luck...

And William, you've mentioned that repair option before I remember. If I remember rightly, I said it didn't work for me without the CD.

I'm not really into P2P anymore so I'm better off just searching on Google for the trial. Since we had just got broadband last year, downloading the trial I can definitely consider, if I find it... lol.

Well for ME it needs the CD because it's missing a .cab file. If I didn't have the .cab problem then of course it wouldn't need the CD...
